I have been dissapointed with the coverage since I found out that the Galaxy S3 doesn't have a 4G chip, and Sprint won't offer support for my 4G LTE chip for a long long while. 3G was working okay for me until the beginning of December. There used to be spots that I knew the 3G wouldn't work, now I am keeping account of the dwindling spots that the 3G does work... First world problems... Sprint should have asked manufacturers that they include 4G compatibility for the Sprint version of the phone (since they knew damn well they couldn't afford to roll out 4G LTE in this lifetime) or not sell the phone at all.

I have missed calls at my office (NY av and 13th) and when I've received it hears like robot voice and the other people barely can hear me. either 4G works Virgin has to improve a lot

Calls not infrequently go straight to voicemail and voicemails come back hours later.

I have virgin mobile which uses Sprint towers -- I am constantly losing calls at my home. I am ready to change. it seems Verizon has the best coverage in DC

I live in Gelmarc Towers. I can receive calls but soon after answering I lose the signal. Also, walking up Columbia rd towards 18th street the signal is always sketchy. It is impossible to carry out a conversation. This part of DC is dead zone for ATT service. I have the issue on multiple cell phones.

To the person who posted earlier today, 10 / 01 / 11, please call Sprint to let them know. I also have called. This has been happening since Tuesday. Check out the "network and coverage" section of the Sprint online discussion forum. (This board won't let me post links.) I have roughly mapped out what I determined to be the affected area. I can go outside the affected zone and bring a call back in with no trouble, though.

Decent reception walking around on the street, but poor both at work and at home. Phone will show show four or five bars of reception, then drop to zero. Fair number of dropped calls. Often, I can't even connect to call my voice mail.

Lived there for a year and could only have conversations when sitting in my window, and even then calls dropped constantly. Miserable. Moved 1 / 4 mile away and it's perfect.

Verizon

Hideous reception within the Ronald Reagan (RRB) building (totally resonate with April 21, 2011 comment from another user). I'm on the 6th floor. I signed up for Verizon understanding that DC coverage was good, but my phone is as good as a paper weight in RRB. How can Verizon let a building with 3.1 million square feet be so poorly covered? (And how ironic that the Verizon Center is only a few blocks away...) I cannot send outbound texts or emails. Incoming calls go directly to voice mail (phone does not even vibrate). I have to go to the lobby to make outbound calls... and even then reception is weak. 3G is pretty much out of the question. Seriously do your homework on Verizon coverage within your own building before signing up.

I've been an AT&T customer for over 3 days - I can't hold one call for God's sake. What in the world is AT&T thinking - I'll switch back to "stupid T-Mobile" at least they have good reception in the DC area.
