Lived there for 1 1 / 2 years and always had trouble with Cingular reception. Static, dropped calls, low signal, etc. It caused me real problems since we did not have a land line in the house and the cell phone reception was completely unreliable. Cingular's customer service was no help, either. I called them many times, and went into stores many times, and they showed me ALL the towers that were nearby --> I shouldn't be having problems there! I am so excited for my contract to finally expire so I can switch to Verizon.

I used to be an ATT Wireless customer until they merged with Cingular. For the last 2 years, I've had perfect reception in my apartment and around the DC-area. Over 3.5 weeks ago, reception in my apartment dropped along with spotty reception everywhere else, and service has not improved. Cingular has not been helpful only offering an explanation that they're converting old ATT towers -- a process that they don't expect to be completed until November! Plus, they've been less than generous with compensation for a phone that I can't use, not to mention the extra charges that I'm incurring on my home phone. Based on Cingular's refusal to deal with the problem in a customer-friendly way, I do not recommend them.

I usually get great reception, but after talking for a little while I will get this horrible static and people usually want to hang up, but I tell them to wait because it goes away after about 5-10 seconds. But then it might happen a few minutes later. It's very annoying. But their customer service is improving and that's important! And it would be nice to get reception in the Metro...

Great reception on 99% of the campus. Verizon, as well as all of the other carriers, do not seem to have reception on the first floor of the Marvin Center. Elsewhere in the DC metro area, Verizon has spectacular coverage. They even have reception in the Metro underground!

I had a T-Mobile phone about a year ago, and I did not get reception at all when I was in the law school building.

Inside my house, my reception drops to 1 or no bars. I often have to go outside to have a decent conversation

Verizon Wireless service is great throughout the entire city for the most part. Also very good for when I travel. I have service in the underground subway system in DC, New York and Boston. I haven't tried my cellphone underground in any other cities.

Verizon service in DC is excellent. I get wonderful service in the city and everywhere I travel. I even have a perfect signal underground in the DC METRO. There are a few dead spots in southeast DC but other than that, the city is covered very well.

My Verizon phone gets good coverage in the DC area. It's especially useful on the Metro. I am on the 3rd floor of a 12 story building and have 5 bars of reception.

Only place I don't get reception is on the Metro. Everywhere else is PERFECT.
