at home I get only 1 or 2 bars, but I am very happy with Sprint coverage with the no roaming plan I have. Was this review helpful to you?
I have experieced very poor reception for this area. Was this review helpful to you?
Haven't lost a call in 3 months. I get near perfect signal everywhere! My co-workers have to go outside to make calls but I can call crystal clear from my office in the center of the building. I'm a Liberty University staff member; if you go to Liberty get Alltel! Was this review helpful to you?
Alltel has some great service here, yet sometimes the calls get dropped but then you don't have to pay for a minute of service. That doesn't happen too often maybe 3 times this month per phone line(at least on our bill). Was this review helpful to you?
Throughout Lynchburg, Charlottesville, and Richmond, Alltel has near-perfect reception. Calls are dropped occasionally, and you hit patches of roaming along 64 E to Richmond, but aside from that, no complaints but expense of plans and long wait for service in stores. Was this review helpful to you?
I have had service with US Cellular, SunCom, and now Verizon. The Verizon reception is the best. I travel in several states. I wish Verizon could open here in Lynchburg but I understand Alltel will not allow it. My cell phone number is long distance from Lynchburg. Was this review helpful to you?
US Cellular does not own this market, roams and has poor reception. Was this review helpful to you?
Coverage is really good all around the city, but I live in Poplar Forest / Rainbow Forest area and the coverage is good while I'm in the house, but driving from the city to my home the coverage gets spotty at the bottom of two hills and I've lost calls at that time. Otherwise, I'm pleased, and still a little worried about more spotty areas areound town. I travel a lot and there's blanket coverage wherever I travel (D.C., Utah, Atlanta, yada yada yada) That's why I got it... plus cooler phones than Alltel. Was this review helpful to you?
Here in LynchStation Virginia we are way out in the boonies. I mean 20 minutes just to get milik at a family owned (for 39 years) convinient store. Then it is 1 hour to the nearest town. They don't even have a Wal-Mart, Home Depot or a mall in that town of Altavista. For all of those frills you have to go another hour to a town called Lynchburg, VA where they have everything a regular city would have - finally civilization. About the Nextel out in our house in the middle of nowhere, my friend could make and receive calls and use Direct Connect without any problem. That is amazing, since no other carrier has service out here except Verizon analog (1 Bar to no service) and Ranger Wireless Solutions - a no name company that allows roaming on Analog (1-2 bars). Was this review helpful to you?
AT&T Wireless (GSM)
No Sevice where every I go, even though their coverage maps show that Monroe is covered! Returned it right away. Note: signal does get better as you head into Madison Heights towards Lynchburg. Starts getting better at PO.Was this review helpful to you?
