Alltel

I have been with Alltel 3 years now. I tried Verizon, NO SERVICE at my house in Charlotte! Can you hear me now? NO! I also tried Cricket, bad! and Cingular was good, but there is very spotty service in rural areas and no service in northern New England where I frequently visit. Since switching to Alltel, I have had no problems. I have service everywhere I go. In and around Charlotte is very good. The only place I drop calls is on I-85 just north of Concord Mills. The signal is 2 to 3 bars at my house. I wish it was a litle bit better, but it's still good service compared to the other options in town.

I get dropped calls for nearly 1 of every 2 conversations! Can't wait to switch carriers. Had AT&T previously and although not perfect, was 100% improvement from current Nextel service. Talking to another Nextel subscriber virtually guarantees that one of us will lose the connection prior to completing a 5 min call! Outrageous!

incredibly spotty coverage. I know of at least 5 dead spots where I will always drop calls, and it happens randomly a lot more. the phone is also a cheap piece of crap and has fallen apart on me. Sprint also has attrocious customer service. they are the cheapest, but now I can finally afford to upgrade after 7 years.

This is at the Enclave Apartments so maybe that's the problem but even outside it sucks. Maybe I should move.

For the past 2 weeks my reception here and throughout Charlotte has deteriorated to the point that 1 in 4 calls are dropped. Spoke with others who have the same issue with Verizon.

I drop calls between 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. everday. I lose reception for minutes at a time. Brick building or wood frame house it does not matter. Speaker phone is fuzzy so is regular sound. I hate my phone. Should have stayed with Verizon.

AT&T is not THAT bad, but it is not great either. The phone itself and service plan are simply OK, but I am also looking at staggering bills and lost signals. The bottom line: I'm looking for another carrier... are you?

Signal usually 3 to 4 bars. If I go into basement of work I will lose signal but will pickup a full Cingular signal. I have to check phone and make sure it does not lock onto Cingular so I will use my unlimited mobile. Little frustrating when your in the middle of metro area and since you use another carriers network you are using your anytime minutes.

Good reception as long as I stay outdoors. AT&T GSM doesn't do well indoors.
