Poor reception. Can mark exact spots where my calls and signal drops like clock work.

Sprint
Cell reception is very weak in the areas of South-Southeast Charlotte and around the UNCC area. Frequently on 1x (lower than typical 3G speeds) data. Calls are not clear at all.

My wife has an IPhone 3 and she can make and receive calls in our house. I have a 4 and cannot hear one thing inside our house. AT&T needs to boost their signals. So bad!

I've not had service for two day. I was told there was an issue taster would be fixed same day but no change.

Actually get OK coverage in the house and in area. I do not get dropped calls. 3G has helped improve my coverage

I primarily use my (iPhone 4) cell phone in 28270 and 28204. I never have any issues with reception. Period. Sometimes slow data. I was on here looking for a cheaper alternative for a cell carrier, but now I am second guessing a move. Then again, according to this site, T-Mobile has better ratings for where I live, and worst ratings for where I work...

They are trying but I do not think I will see even one more bar.

T-Mobile
Rarely ever under 5 bars in the Charlotte area. I have an Iphone 4s unlocked, I do miss the not having 3g / 4g but I got it because of a promotion of 30$ unlimited text / web and 100 mins talk and T-Mobile is building 3g / 4g towers specifically compatible with Iphones with their project due date new years or so. Reception is great unless I go towards Monroe which depending on the building can be anywhere from no Signal to 4 bars, I do get my usual 100% coverage anywhere else though.

4 iPhones in 9 months, plus 2 LG octanes, 2 Motorola W755's, several LG Revere VZ no contract phones, a Samsung "range extender", and we have been assured by VZ that we are "surrounded by their cell towers". Why do we continue to experience an unbelievable amount of dropped calls, the all too frequent inability to send or receive text an / or media messages, and, without moving a muscle, watch the "bars" on each phone go from 4 to 1 to none at any given place in our home, yard, and the entire neighborhood at any given time? Our neighbor is a retired VZ executive, and she finally gave up and now has a no contract Tracphone, as do most of our neighbors. We all have lost track of the countless calls to VZ tech services (no answers there!), and are resigned to waiting until our contracts expire. It seems we are all living in a 1 mile VZ "dead zone". NEVER AGAIN!

AT&T
The Charlotte area appears to be a real challenge for cell phone coverage, and AT&T is absolutely terrible around my house and neighboring area. I thought that being in an urban setting would mean solid coverage, but my service is essentially unusable without sitting within a few feet of a $250 booster with a roof mounted antenna I bought. My wife's Sprint service is better. Having come from DFW, I had no idea I'd see this bad of service in a major city, and I can't find anything that says there are solid plans for improvement. Maybe why DFW is always one of the first to roll out new cell technology; open and flat makes it simple. Sucks when coverage is such a big factor choosing where you live in a city. To repeat myself, AT&T around my area, a populated area, is awful.

Sprint
Signal drops all the time, sprint service sucks and can not make decent phone calls unless I sit cell phone by a window seal to make any call.

Sprint
Reception sucks and calls are dropped. Call quality is terrible. Sprint wanted me to pay another 120$ for a booster! Don't buy Sprint!

Verizon
verizon coverage is perfect all over Charlotte. I have an older phone, and I often get service where people with AT&T do not. A+

AT&T
Does not matter how many times I use "Mark to Spot" to report my issues to AT&T. Which has almost been a year now. AT&T has done NOTHING. Cell coverage by the Charlotte airport with AT&T is very poor and that is putting it mildly!

Verizon
I started with Verizon in Florida and could not get reception inside my house. Moved here and do not seem to have too much a problem. I can get and receive call inside and outside of the house. However, recently I was told that by someone they could not get through. It's a shame a city the size of Charlotte has such terrible phone reception among it carriers. I have been reading all the comments and none of the carriers seem to be outstanding.

T-Mobile
I can't believe T-Mobile is rated highest in Charlotte. I have T-Mobile (unfortunately), and where I live (around Kilborne Park on the east side), there is a reception, at most, one bar. I'm talking about being outside. If you're indoor (just in a house for example), forget it, there is absolutely no reception, anywhere in the entire area. It's ridiculous.

T-Mobile
No reception in the Steelechase subdivision for 2 months now. Talked to TMobile several times about this issue with contradictory answers. One person says there should be great coverage in this area, the other says, there seems to be a problem with coverage in the 28273 district. When I finally lost my cool, I was told that it states is the contract that they don't guarantee coverage in the house. When I asked to be released from my contract with no charge, it was denied. Their costumer service is terrible! I want to caution everyone who is thinking about signing up with TMobile!

Verizon Tech Support tells me that they lost a lease on a nearby cell tower in June 2012, resulting in poor coverage for customers in this area. I only get 2 bars inside my home and drop every call. They recommended a "network extender" for inside my home. If you're experiencing coverage problems in your area, please contact customer support to report the problem.

AT&T
I have to use a 3G Microcell to get my AT&T phone (Iphone 4S) to work in my apartment. Ironically there is an AT&T store, literally across the street from me. Most other carriers don't work here either. It's a dead zone. Only limited reception in the Blakeney shopping center.

AT&T
Constantly complain to AT&T only to get the "we're constantly working on improving our reception... ". Yeah, that's because it can't get worse! I have been with them for years and it seems like the coverage has been consistently declining in the past two years or so. I'm gone.

In my 2 years with AT&T, I have had repeated dropped calls, no service, slow service. At my new work location (Freedom Dr. at Camp Greene) I get no service at all. Have to go all the way out to the parking lot to get 2 bars.

This area is marked "Good" on the coverage map but it is not good. Moderate is all we can say. I can't count on my phone to work. I miss calls all the time. I would put up an external antenna if I knew which one to use and how to get the antenna connected to my phone. I need some help.

Depends on the flow of traffic on Atando Avenue. 3-6 bars depending on the PRL.

The intersection of Queens and Selwyn and Radcliffe, near Queens University, has become a "dead" zone in the last two months. I get reception inside my house with a "network extender" but no reception outside or within a 1-2 block area. What is the problem? This is new and we never had reception problems before. Anything to do with the construction at Queens University?

Verizon
Dead Spot on the main floor of Charlotte Convention Center from Verizon Wireless. You would think they would put in some sort of signal booster for a venue such as this! Especially with the Democratic National Convention coming to town. Come on Verizon, you can do it!

At home and in the city I get enough reception to make and receive phone calls (there are some signal shadows around the big buildings in the city), but staying connected to Google Talk and IRC networks hasn't wored very well the past few weeks. Luckily my phone (HTC Merge) has good battery life even when on wifi so I just connect to my home network when I'm there. I've never had any dropped calls in the city or the surrounding area though.
