This is amazing. I was with T-Mobile - reception from day one was terrible but coverage map was 100%. Called and called and called. Finally they would not meet me but said they came out and coverage was fine. I said I would sign up for a four year contract if they could make or receive a call inside my house - they never responded. Now been with Verizon for 4 - can't call from house - not clear enough but better - but can't use as primary phone. So I researched T-Mobile - SURELY after four years it is better. Unable to find one single review that is good and we are larger than Atlanta? Verizon could not quote me correctly, three incorrect quotes - now charging $30 to upgrade a basic phone - (wow that was the last incentive) - terrible - so now they charge $150 to lock me into a two year contract. Then they are only willing to take $50 off a booster to keep me - 5 phones at home - 4 at office - gees... .. I would switch in a heart beat but everyone sucks in this market. T Mobile - Sprint - no good reviews - ATT Verizon same price. What a market.. If Virgin ever comes in 100% and gets coverage - they will shut everyone down. Both T Mobile and Verizon are worse four years later? WOW we really do live in the age of faster better lower priced tech. Wrong. Wish I could just terminate all the phones. Most frustrating process ever and it is a freaking cell phone.

I have had Sprint service for many years. I have noticed the quality of the reception / coverage going down. It is so bad now that I drop calls 5-6 a day and am constantly asking others to please repeat themselves because I cant hear them. It is hard to conduct business on the phone and be professional when you drop calls.

Moved out of Matthews and into the rural Mint Hill area. Went from having 2 or 3 bars of LTE down to 1 at best; most of the time I get kicked down to 4G. Reception is non-existent inside my house, have to be within inches of a window or go outside. Sucked it up and bought a Microcell from AT&T and it fixed our reception problem in the house, we now have full bars. Down side, if we are arriving home or leaving home while on the phone, we lose the call as it either switches to or from the Microcell. I can't beat the service plan I have with my family due to the discounts I receive through work, but I would switch to Verizon in a second if they could match the price.

I either have no reception or one to two bars of service at best. Crossing the city I can easily drop 5+ calls in 20 mins. The ONLY place that has perfect service is downtown. I live 5 mins from center city and I have no coverage at my house. Thankfully I buy extra internet to at least run my phone off wi-fi to notify someone in case of an emergency by text or email. My contract is over Oct 1st. I am shopping new companies. This has been ongoing for at least over a year. I would have changed before however I was in a contract. I also have spoken to other Sprint users and they have the exact same problem. You would think that in a city with over one million people we could have at least the minimum standard coverage.

Good coverage for most of Charlotte, with some holes. I had a terrible LG prepaid phone so not sure if this caused the dropped calls or if it was the network.

On an iPhone service continuously fluctuates between no signal and three bars with data showing E (2G). With LTE upgrades still going on iPhones are having issues in this area.

We moved to the Charlotte area from Texas where we had great coverage all throughout the state and pretty much where ever we travelled. Out here though, not so great. I frequently have to go outside on the deck to talk on my iPhone4. I've also noticed that I lose coverage and my Google maps when I'm driving in uptown Charlotte--extremely frustrating when I'm trying to figure out how to get somewhere.

I actually am on Straight Talk, but I am fortunate to have bought a AT&T Straight Talk Sim card for my Smart Phone. I use my phone for work and it works great almost everywhere. Could not be happier. I have had Sprint for 12 years, Cricket, AT&T contract... this is far the best pre-paid. Will soon have my wife and daughter on S.T-T-mobile. We will see how that works. Will update afterwards.

Cell reception is very weak in the areas of South-Southeast Charlotte and around the UNCC area. Frequently on 1x (lower than typical 3G speeds) data. Calls are not clear at all.

Hard time making or receiving calls inside the house. Data is very slow. VZ works well at our house but I dont want to pay x2 what I m paying now. The only reason I m still with Sprint is the Sero Account that is very cheap. Also, I live in LTE area but I have yet to experiance it! I hope they do something about it soon.

Spotty service at best while in Brandon Oaks. We have the family plan and unfortunately my wife is unable to dial or receive calls while in our house, I am unable to get some service (2 bars when I'm lucky) but never able to get more than that when home. Anxiously waiting for contract to expire to change carriers.

I primarily use my (iPhone 4) cell phone in 28270 and 28204. I never have any issues with reception. Period. Sometimes slow data. I was on here looking for a cheaper alternative for a cell carrier, but now I am second guessing a move. Then again, according to this site, T-Mobile has better ratings for where I live, and worst ratings for where I work...

Rarely ever under 5 bars in the Charlotte area. I have an Iphone 4s unlocked, I do miss the not having 3g / 4g but I got it because of a promotion of 30$ unlimited text / web and 100 mins talk and T-Mobile is building 3g / 4g towers specifically compatible with Iphones with their project due date new years or so. Reception is great unless I go towards Monroe which depending on the building can be anywhere from no Signal to 4 bars, I do get my usual 100% coverage anywhere else though.

4 iPhones in 9 months, plus 2 LG octanes, 2 Motorola W755's, several LG Revere VZ no contract phones, a Samsung "range extender", and we have been assured by VZ that we are "surrounded by their cell towers". Why do we continue to experience an unbelievable amount of dropped calls, the all too frequent inability to send or receive text an / or media messages, and, without moving a muscle, watch the "bars" on each phone go from 4 to 1 to none at any given place in our home, yard, and the entire neighborhood at any given time? Our neighbor is a retired VZ executive, and she finally gave up and now has a no contract Tracphone, as do most of our neighbors. We all have lost track of the countless calls to VZ tech services (no answers there!), and are resigned to waiting until our contracts expire. It seems we are all living in a 1 mile VZ "dead zone". NEVER AGAIN!
