Verizon
Used to have 3 bars, now never more than 1. Why the change?

Verizon LTE is very slow in the area around Greenville Loop from Oasis Dr.to Pinegrove, often less than 2 mbps download. Far from what would be considered acceptable speed. This has been a problem as long as I’ve lived in that area. I have reported this to Verizon several times but they have taken no action other than to send me some sort of device to hook up to my internet that supposedly increases the signal. I sent it isn’t really a fix, just a workaround.

Download speed on LTE is 0.15 mbps today which is about what is usually is. This is very unacceptable.

With T-Mobile I get no phone reception. It has been like that for a coup[le of years. No problems texting though. That is until a few days ago. Now the phone just takes up space. I am going to try Verizon. My son says he gets good reception with them. I use my landline for most call. The cell phone is for emergencies when I am out in the woods or gardening. Not much good for that these days.

Verizon was really good here for a couple years, but very poor lately. Not sure if it's because of more tourists or because of the hurricane. Such high bills and no service, is a very hard pill to swallow. I'll definitely start looking at other carriers if the service continues to be this way!

Little to no reception with Verizon. It is ridiculous that a major tourist area has such poor reception. Verizon needs to step up their game, especially with the amount of money they charge.

Reception in my area is bad at times, and that's even with pinging a cell tower just a couple of miles away. In my house I'm usually on Wi-Fi calling as my signal can shift from 3 bars LTE to 1 bar LTE in an instant depending on where I'm using my phone (my lower floor is brick, so understandable, but the upper floor is vinyl siding). Outside it's not too awful, though - generally holds a 2-3 bar LTE signal. And if I drive into town and am trying to use data, good luck. This area is so saturated that it's difficult at best to even access my email at times (yeah, I know, first world problems, but when you're paying $70 / month on up you'd at least expect low bandwidth applications to work without lag). I will say that overall coverage in SE NC is good for Verizon, though, but I'm not sure if I want to pay the cost of this service for what I get out of it.

Haven't had phone service in Kure Beach since the Hurricane Florence. I tried I Phone 5, I Phone 5S, LG. None of them will work. Tried a Motorola Cruise that uses Internet. That is the only way I have phone service. Made numerous calls to my cell phone provider Cricket (Onwed by AT and T). They are no help. I've called them everyday since Dec 23, 2018.. I only live here part time. Also talked to the mayor of Kure Beach, He said he would make a call to AT and T.
