Sprint
In the last few months, reception has declined. Used to have at least 3 bars, and never experienced dropped calls, now they happen regularly. 1 or 2 bars inside, but outside is just weird; from 1 to 4 back down to 2, 1, then up to 4 again, all in one minute.

T-Mobile
this really sucks! I pay over $200 amonth for 3 lines and neither one of us can use our service when we're on. I worl from home and my son has chronic asthma so I need my ph on at all times!

AT&T
I was told by a person at the AT&T store that the tower in our area was worked on about a year ago, and it was messed up at that time and has still not been repaired. As soon as I said something about my poor reception, the salesperson was able to tell me what area I lived in.

Sprint
My cell phone reception seems to be good enough. I am amazed there are only 3 towers in the more densely populated areas.

T-Mobile
We were with T Mobile for six years. Over the last six months, we could rarely place calls in our home. 0 to 1 bars. It's better in other areas, but I wouldn't recommend the service in the NAS JAX / Ortega Farms area. We switched to Verizon now we have 2 to 3 bars, much better, but more expensive.

Service is awful. Max is two bars, lots of dropped calls. Phone hardly works inside.

Nextel
At the house, the reception varies randomly and widely. Pretty much anywhere in town, for that matter. Sometimes takes me between 2-6 hours to receive a text message or voicemail alert. Call breakups and drops can happen at any moment for no apparent reason. It totally mystifies me that Nextel / Sprint have gotten away with having such useless service for so long. I made the mistake of leaving AT&T for the two-way to use at work. I left that job, and about to break the contract, to go back to AT&T, which I never had an issue with here in Jacksonville, FL STAY AWAY!

Verizon
Live in the Waterlesf subdivision, Atlantic and Kernan. No bar inside the house, but usually enough to send a text. Walking outside is a little better. Has been this way since I first tried to switch to Verizon from AT&T in 2009. My household uses AT&t and T-Mobile service where we have no dead spots inside the house. Hopefully, Verizon puts up another tower soon.

US Cellular
I flew from VA down to FL for a business trip. I called home several times and family member on other end told me that the caller id said IL number... WTF? Also, there was a 15-20 second delay between my sentences for the person on the other end of the line to hear me. U.S. Cellular isn't FL friendly by any means.

Sprint
Usually no bars. Inside max on either phone or air-card is 1 bar but it drops to no bars it the wind blows (yeah, that's a joke, but the signal strength is the truth). Outside usually 1 bar, on a lucky day jumps around between 1 to 2 bars. The closest Sprint tower is at NAS JAX, next closest is at JAX airport. Sprint store told me "too bad for you". Some kind of service, huh?

at home bars fluctuate from 0-2 usually. reception is fine when there are bars, some areas not able to dial or send text. on beach blvd reception is great, 4 bars. prepaid has terrible reception at home, using Samsung no-fancy flip phone.

Sprint
Terrible reception. Have installed the Sprint Airave cable modem booster and that works inside but step out the door and 1-2 bars and dropping calls constantly. Live 4 miles away for 5 years (SW of JIA)and all was great, what a difference just on the other side of JIA( NE corner).

T-Mobile
I love T-Mobile in Jacksonville, Florida. We finally got 3G here in August 2009. Reception has been really good as I average 3-4 bars out of 4 almost everywhere I go. Their customer service has been great and the prices are lower than most. I suggest that everyone never sign a 2-year contract with any provider and go month to month with an unsubsidized phone (Google Nexus One). Best decision I've made. I was close to marking this service PERFECT but I changed it because I sometimes get EDGE instead of 3G. Picky, I know, but perfect would be 3G everywhere.

Verizon
We can make calls, but they drop in a few seconds. Phone messages are often not received until we drive down to SR 200. It didn't used to be this bad, but the service is getting worse.

No reception at all in our sunroom. Poor throughout the rest of the house

Sprint
Sprint service is great in most areas except where I live. It annoys me that when I call Sprint to try to cancel my contract they say... "according to our coverage map, you should have good coverage in your area." They say this like I must be lying... now I'm just waiting for my contract to end... .

I lose coverage in my office near Belfort / JtB but also my home JTB / Hodges. I have older I-phone but my wife has a Samsung 3G and she gets dropped calls as well in our house. 2 cell towers on JTB do not show up on this map? Whose are they? will switch to Verizon and take my chances. Had Sprint before and it was very bad as well.

Verizon
Verizon is the ultimanium service provider in Jacksonville. I get great voice quality and data coverage 4 EVDO and 4 1X CDMA.

T-Mobile
we have to walk out of my home and to the street if I want to get any bars. then I get 3 at the max if the weather is OK. as much as the northside of Jax is growing you would think they would invest in more towers. calls are always dropped when driving on Lem Turner between i-295 and callahan. wouldn't recommend T-Mobile to anyone in this area.

Verizon
Verizon has consistent and reliable coverage here in Jacksonville. Dropped calls simply do not happen when I had this service. I have tried Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and then back to Verizon because Verizon simply had the best coverage out of those three. AT&T is great for its rollover plans, which has saved my wallet several times, but it's not cut out for reliability and I barely get reception inside my home.

T-Mobile
Reception is non-existent inside any building on campus at all. Outside you get maybe 1 or 2 bars max. You have to literally leave campus to get any signal.

T-Mobile
Generally have very good to perfect reception indoors and out, in automobiles, and even in the back of the dreaded Walmart Superstore and Sams. Occasionaly drops to 3 bars when I'm very close to a lot of computer equipment. Also get similarly good reception with our Nokia 6103s 6203, and Razer phones

Verizon
In this area, Verizon is decent outside but very spotty reception inside the house. Since Verizon is about to buyout Alltel, I'm hoping that we might pick up a tower or two.

T-Mobile
sure am glad my 2 year T-Mobile contract is almost up. never have been able to use the phone in my home and usually can not use it driving down lem turner between i-295 and callahan without having the calls dropped. T-Mobile should invest in putting up more towers on the northside of jax as this is the area of town that will be having the large population growth next.

AT&T
When Cingular was Cingular we had great reception. As soon as they sold out to AT&T the phone service will not work in the house - unless I stand in my closet or go outside.
