Verizon
Cell phones are unusable inside my house, and barely usable outside. When receiving calls, at least 50% of the time my phones don't even ring - call goes directly to voicemail (with phone on and not in use). DON'T USE VERIZON, you WILL be sorry.

AT&T
Terrible reception in my home and surrounding areas, often drop calls, straight to vm or "can you hear me now". Now I know why AT&T are called the "can you hear my now network". Can't work from home anymore because of this, may have to switch networks very soon.

T-Mobile
Tmobile provides a free booster (u pay $7shipping) for your home.Had poor coverage in house off of Hodges. I got booster and it works great. I switched from ATT and have less drops on JTB and 95 towards downtown with Tmobile. My wife had more drops on drive to beach with unlocked AT&T phone. Getting T-Mobile phone fixed her problem. I have unlocked AT&T phone and cant wait for the new 1900 LTE coverage to be online in Jaxville. I got a taste of it in Baltimore and it was screaming fast data download. Faster than my home wifi. Stuck with edge now. Anyone know about that refarming / new atower antenna deployment schedule for jaxville?>

AT&T
I was told by a person at the AT&T store that the tower in our area was worked on about a year ago, and it was messed up at that time and has still not been repaired. As soon as I said something about my poor reception, the salesperson was able to tell me what area I lived in.

AT&T
There is a pocket of poor reception at 320 Solana Rd. I rarely receive more than 1 bar strength.

Verizon
I have Verizon for the extensive network which seems to disappear at my home. Calls go directly to voice mail. Dropped calls at home and one bar or less at home. Outide things are different. So I thought it was just me until I went to my sister's house in Chicago. I had to go DOWN THE DRIVEWAY to make a call. I hate my carrier. Abyssmal service at a premium price. Relieved to see its not just me.

AT&T
The reception in this area is pretty spotty. My phone cuts in and out on me all the time, I am looking for a signal booster to help me have stable phone conversations. Reception on the beach is zero.

T-Mobile
T Mobile is crappy. Most of the time, I get 1 bar to "No Service" when trying to use it in the house. I have even seen bars displayed on the phone, and I call from my home phone to "test" it, and it goes straight to voice mail. It is very selective about where it chooses to work. Outdoors, I have no problems, and in some building it works great, but overall, I think it is a piece of garbage. The good thing is that I have a pay-as- you go plan with Wal-Mart, so I can dump this service ASAP. I had a contract with Sprint and had NO PROBLEMS with the service. Every now and again I would hit a "dead zone" and lose the call, but my reception in the house was always excellence. If I have to have a problem using the service, I j would rather have an occasional drop off outside, than a constant one in my home. As of this writing, I am currently looking for a Boost mobile phone, and then I am switching my plan before I receive my first bill from Wal-Mart. I hope my experience will be helpful to anyone who is considering using T - Mobile.

AT&T
I just built a house in Coastal Oaks. I have two AT&T cell phones and both get 0 - 1 bar (at best) reception. This is a very big deal because I work from a home office.

With the Airave the voice serive is good, but once you leave your house it's fair... .the texting is bad with or without the airave. Not sure if I'm changing carriers as I'm going to be moving to S. Jacksonville / ST.Johns area.

Verizon
Sketchy in the house and, when it isn't raining, I frequently take calls from the back yard. Drops on 9a going north from 95 (toward beaches) and spotty through the city. I travel for work and find the same type of "hit and miss" in and around Atlanta. Though, with VZW, it isn't just about signal strength, but about poor customer service, especially as it relates to billing problems. In the past four days, I spent > four hours to get an adjustment on a billing error. Normally, about $200 but somehow became $1300+... Omigosh, what at wonderful wedding present. Filed formal "notice of dispute" and kindly asked to have the issue escalated.

MetroPCS
Switched to Metro PC 6 weeks ago after 25+ years with a different carrier. No reception inside my home. May be less costly, however no service, especially when you have business calls at home, is more costly.

Nextel
At the house, the reception varies randomly and widely. Pretty much anywhere in town, for that matter. Sometimes takes me between 2-6 hours to receive a text message or voicemail alert. Call breakups and drops can happen at any moment for no apparent reason. It totally mystifies me that Nextel / Sprint have gotten away with having such useless service for so long. I made the mistake of leaving AT&T for the two-way to use at work. I left that job, and about to break the contract, to go back to AT&T, which I never had an issue with here in Jacksonville, FL STAY AWAY!

Verizon
Live in the Waterlesf subdivision, Atlantic and Kernan. No bar inside the house, but usually enough to send a text. Walking outside is a little better. Has been this way since I first tried to switch to Verizon from AT&T in 2009. My household uses AT&t and T-Mobile service where we have no dead spots inside the house. Hopefully, Verizon puts up another tower soon.

US Cellular
I flew from VA down to FL for a business trip. I called home several times and family member on other end told me that the caller id said IL number... WTF? Also, there was a 15-20 second delay between my sentences for the person on the other end of the line to hear me. U.S. Cellular isn't FL friendly by any means.

AT&T
We constantly lose calls. We have a M-Cell in one room of the house that really helps if in that room but as it happens we are never in that room when we get a call, we get to say hello and then the call gets dropped. We can't run up the stairs to the M-Cell room fast enough and don't usually get a chance to tell the caller to call the land line. Very unsatisfied.

Perfect reception... I get good reception inside of the apartment and outside. Never had a problem with the phone reception since I came to Jacksonville, FL.

Sprint
worked fine the first 4 weeks I was here-now nothing inside my home or out back-if I want to receive a call or make one I have to stand at the end of my driveway. Tech support has been no help!

T-Mobile
Service in this area is very good, but at home on Hodges Blvd.near Atantic Blvd.I can text and talk, but can rarely use my internet connect. I always have 1-2 bars inside the house. Thinking of getting rid of my smart-phone since I cannot use it much if at all at home.

Sprint
No Bars, no 4G, limited voice mail. Most calls dropped, but reception is it is getting better. Phone is great, apps great. Customer Service is understanding and supportive. It took T-Mobile 1.5 years to fix the same problem.

AT&T
Dunno how often people may comment how good a service is on sites like these, but despite the fact that I really want an Evo 4g with Sprint, my iPhone has been working great with AT&T. The fact that there're minimal good comments about Sprint has me nervous. However, no matter what phone I've had with ATT, my calls always drop at the intersection of San Jose and University. And there's another spot closer to Baymeadows where calls always drop. Lastly, I occasionally drop at I-95 near the Golfair Blvd.exit. But those're the only three dead pockets I've found. That's a good track record considering some providers don't even get signal inside certain buildings... and I've never lost signal in a building before. Or at home.
