Sprint
I have had issues with Sprint since I switched to them last July, always a "tower issue", whateve'r, that excuse got old a LONG time ago. Almost EVERY call is dropped, and if it is not dropped the phone says it's a "lost call" which does not show up on their end as a dropped call, so they pretty much tell you your lying and too bad. They did give me an Airwave, however the reception with it is still not great, still occasionally drops calls and makes a constant clicking noise during conversations. Oh, and the airwave makes my wifi half as strong so I cannot update any apps, and once I leave my house... .little to no service, voice or data. And Customer Service, what a joke. More than half of them are just COMPLETELY rude. I actually purchased another phone just to make sure it wasn't a hardware issue, same problems. Avoid Sprint if you live in this area, unlimited data is only worth it if you can get the data to work!

Since Januaray 25, 2013, I have had limited or no T-Mobile service in my area. When I get 3-4 miles away from my home, my service is restored to the way it is supposed to be. I was credited $12 for my issue after a week of no service but this problem is still going on. I need my phone the way it was on January 24, 2013.

Only 1 bar of signal with AT&T Motorola Atrix HD and 4 bars of signal on Verizon Wireless Blackberry in exact same position.

Most of the time I do not have problems with phone calls. However there seems to be a drop area on 82nd around Sargent Rd. If I'm on the phone in this area, 8 X 10 I will lose the call. Data is slow. If I'm at home, I use my wireless internet. Trying to figure out if 4G is just a myth. Don't think I've ever seen my phone in 4G no matter where I'm at.

AT&T
Meridian Kessler / Butler Tarkington has always had poor reception. From the beginning of cell phone use, there has never been enough coverage no matter what phone or provider used.

I have a 4G Iphone and might as well not have any data plan at all because the only time I can use the data part of my phone is when I am on a wi-fi network somewhere. We were told we could bring the phones back within 15 days of purchase if we were dissatisfied. We brought them in on the 15th day and were told we could not return them or any of the accessories we bought. The unlimited data plan seemed like a great plan, but since we can't ever use it, we might as well not even have it. We NEVER had connectivity issues with Verizon in Indianapolis or anywhere else we traveled (all over the country). We are waiting for the upgrade to 4G in the coming months (when we happened to be near Fishers one day, which does have 4G, our phones worked fabulously) and if that doesn't improve the situation, we will pay to cancel our contract and move on!

Sprint
Love my cellphone (the Nexus S) but had to terminate contract early because the voice and data service was so bad. Resorted to Skype calls when I was home, and couldn't accomplish much without WiFi in the office. I really really wanted to stay with Sprint, wanted to support the anti-Verizon and anti-AT&T, have unlimited data, and for what it's worth, I did really like Sprint's customer service. But you know, the know phone service was garbage.

It is difficult to get good reception in my house. If it's an option, I always take calls outside to ensure they don't drop. Reception doesn't seem to get better until I'm at least a half mile from my house in any direction. We'll be switching carriers this week.

Problem started a couple of weeks ago. Never get calls and then a few hours later when I get to a high point I get several voice mails and texts.

Verizon
Verizon coverage in Indianapolis is horrible. I live not even 10 miles from downtown and I can barely get 2 / 5 bars of 3G. 4G is also almost nonexistant max I can get is 3 / 4 bars. 3G is very very slow, only 0.4k download, actually kind of sad.

Sprint
Sprint stinks. I drop calls no matter where I am in the city. Often, when I drop the call, it takes 2-3 tries to even get another call to go through. They have no intention on putting more towers up and also say they don't 'throttle' your internet. This is a lie. I drove from Indianapolis to Fort Wayne and during the 2 hour drive, I downloaded several apps. When I started, they downloaded at an ok speed. By the time I got to Fort Wayne, I was lucky if I was getting 20kbs... dialup is faster! And I was practically under a tower!

Verizon
I have been a Verizon customer for years and seldom can get a solid enough connection at my residence to make a call. I'll have to make a switch to another carrier as I'm not about to spend money on a Verizon antenna.

Every first call sounds like a buzz - incoming or outgoing.... most cases have to disconnect and dial a second call for perfect receptions.. The coverage Bars are all up.. received the same comments from 20 other people..

Verizon
Used to get better reception inside home. In last two years, significantly worse. Have reported to Verizon countless times and they mentioned there may be a problem with the tower but cannot fix it. There solution is for us to buy an internal tower at a significant expense. We did get new phones, now the LG5500 but still reception is not good. Causes voice recognition to be spotty and phone is not clear. AT &T was here to work on our phone lines for another reason and his Iphone had full bars while my Verizon LG5500 had 1 bar. I like Verizon in all most other areas but not happy with it at home. Considering switching to AT and T.

Sprint
Never drops a call in Indianapolis EXCEPT at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where getting a signal is a crap shoot. Move 6 feet to the left, or go up or down a floor, or find a window, who knows?

No matter where I go in Indy, I can barely get a signal. Texting is a nightmare and my phone calls always cuts in and out. I never had these problems in other cities!

If I go outside I have fairly good reception, however, if I am in the apartment I must stay next to a window and have very spotty reception with a lot of static and / or dropped calls. Have replaced phone 3 times in 2 years, many calls to customer service, replaced sim card, replaced battery... and, hopefully it is the phone. I just ordered a Nokia 5610 having been advised that I would get much better reception at home (and some at work just 1 / 2 mile from home... others on T-Mobile with different phones seem to have no problems). At least, I have 14 days after delivery in which to decide whether to keep phone or search for another provider.
