Cellular One
Centennial Wireless has good signal even in my mobile home and in the steel frame building I work in on the SE side of town. Only problem I have experienced is loss of any signal going through the intersection of SR19 and US6 downtown.

Areas seperating Elkhart County and St. Joseph County as well as the Indiana and Michigan Border has quite a few dead spots causing dropped calls. However it has gotten 100% better over the last 1 1 / 2 years.

I've had T-Mobile all the way back to their Voicestream days (10 years!) and I've never had a single issue. Good or great reception everywhere and never had a dropped call from South Bend, Niles, Chicago or Indy or anywhere.

The reason reception in this area is so bad is because of Charles S. Hayes Inc. and a very suspicious decision to allow a tower to be built here. An alternate site, which would have allowed a taller tower in an area away from homes and okayed by all neighbors could have handled all cell companies and solved all problems. Unfortumatly the AZB will not allow another tower to be built in area. It was offered. So don't blame Verizon or Nextel who handle emergency communications in area, but Charles Hayes the St. Joe County Council, Mark Dobson and the people of the Knollwood Area who wouldn't help and get this done right. Thank you Verizon and Nextel for standing behind a neighborhood.

I had almost no signal in my old office. Then I relocated to another office on the other side of the building and have full bars all the time now. I also get good reception outside.

Be careful all those who are planning to switch to AT&T! I have been trapped in a two year contract with AT&T and cannot wait to get out of it. When I initially powered the phone on, I got OK signals. Then the reception became terrible at my home and almost all calls were dropped before they end. Also, AT&T charges $175 early termination fee per line! If I do not turn off the phone for a few days, I may be able to make a call or two by turning off the phone and then turning it back on. It will make the phone re-register and get a few bars for a while. But it will not last and will not work again on the same day. So be aware.

Centennial Wireless is LOUSY service. Those "Blue Shirts" are rude, lack customer service and they are IMPOSSIBLE to get away from even after your contract runs out. We gave 30+ days notice to end service and they "conveniently" lost our letter, even though one employee remembers it being turned in. Stay away from CENTENNIAL !

I'm lucky when I get one bar on a clear day in Granger, IN. When inside I have no hope to ever get a signal. A new tower just went up about a mile from my house, but Verizon chose not to co-locate on it. Here I come AT&T!

Thanks for the info RAZR V3m! My co-worked has AT&T and reports having great service in Granger now that the new tower is up. I submitted a support request through Verizon and basically asked them if they had any plans to co-locate on this tower. The answer was less than satisfying, they refused to give me any indication about which towers they use and which ones they plan to use in the future. My contract is up in November. Unless something changes, I'll be heading to AT&T at that time.
