AT&T
I have great service everywhere except in this area. It is close to an airport, so Cingular uses that excuse on me. My roommate is on Sprint, and his works fine. I also have a Nextel phone for work, and it works fine at home.

Just switched from old AT&T to new Cingular. If at all possible, reception is WORSE! Think I will switch us to Verizon, as they have 12 towers in 5 mi. radius -- while Cingular has two (2) in 10 mi. radius.

My phone from Cingular sucks. Almost every call I have to redial, get a dropped signal or can barely hear. I am going to switch to US Cellular or Verizon.

Phone was out on the summer fest grounds for three days rude customer service

Worst. Phone service. Ever. I purchased a phone and they told me, because I moved from Chicago to Milwaukee, that I could still keep my old ZIP in Chicago. However, the phone did not work in my home. It worked everywhere else pretty much, but not at home. They then told me, after I asked to get out of the contract because I was unable to use the phone, that in many cases the phone does not work if you keep a number from antoehr city. I had also purchased a phone for my mom still in Chicago. I was paying for two phones monthly but not using mine at all. Their rep told me the phones don't have to work and service is not guaranteed. I was astonished. After tiring of their "lines" I cancelled the service at a whopping cost of $300. I felt I'd be better off without the aggravation and, for a year of bills without usage I may have lost a little more by cancelling but not much. I will never use US Cellular again. Their customer service is not service at all--they appear to be desperate for contracts and their people seem to read scripts regardless of the circumstances presented to them. I was a customer for 10 years. I will never be a customer of theirs agains.

Our NEC 525 gets absolutely no reception in our house, and our Motorola T721 gets very minimal. We'd drop AT&T / Cingular today if it weren't for the 2-year contract and fee!

Cingular coverage is horrible. if you plan on doing business with your phone go to Verizon. you can't hold a phone call for more than 5 min. GSM sucks! if you are in GSM area you still get dropped calls and if your not in GSM your dead..

Where I live is right next to the tower but I get great reception anyplace. I love this phone - it's very old - and TMobile. By any place I mean Western Europe, the Mediterranean and Central America. And I pay a modest amount per minute when I'm in those places. No charge for the basic GSM service except the usual monthly charge for however many minutes. (I subscriber for 500 but never use them because of the free weekends) There are parts of the US - and even Wisconsin, just west of Madison, where I have momentary blank spots. But, never in Europe. I think this is still DeutscheTelecom.

T-Mobile has a very competitive regional plan (3000 anytime minutes for $49.00), however, I find that the reception is below average. When in some buildings, collegues have good reception with their phones and I get none. Forget about using the phone in much of Elm Grove and parts of Wauwatosa. Between Madison and Milwaukee it is very poor. Between Milwaukee and Lake Geneva, reception is very poor. In much of northern Wisconsin -- forget about it. The customer service with T-Mobile is excellent. Remember, my review is with the regional plan which, I believe, uses a different technology than the national plan.
