Calls received at my house lose signal within seconds, not good coverage around this area at all... .Was this review helpful to you?
Used to be bad, until about six months ago, now I am quite happy with the signal strength. this is a challenging neighborhood, given the hills. Was this review helpful to you?
I have been so disappointed in my cell coverage since I moved to this location. I rated it as a 1, but half the time it's at 0. I used to live in downtown Mpls, and I never even considered having a lack of reception here. Since day one it has been absolutely horrible. Over the summer, I had calls that would literally drop every few seconds. I ended up getting a landline just so I can talk on the phone at home. When my contract runs out, I do not think I will renew my service with AT&T. I just think it is ridiculous to not be able to get service from a major carrier in a metropolitan area. Especially considering what I am paying each month and that friends with cheapo prepay phones get excellent coverage here. Was this review helpful to you?
Have had Verizon for years and just in the last month have had terrible reception with many dropped calls in Uptown. Can't figure out what's changed as the phone has been with me for 6 months and previous phones were pretty dated yet still had good reception. Was this review helpful to you?
I just made the switch to AT&T with an iPhone. Had to have it. I had T-Mobile for years and had great reception for years up until about 4 months ago. For whatever reason T-Mobile starting getting bad. The only thing now is, two days into this AT&T service with an iPhone, its been bad! Wow! How can they call this a service? What I'm I paying for? AT&T Sucks! Was this review helpful to you?
I always get great reception. I've been with T-Mobile for three years and I've only had a few minor problems. I suspect it has more to do with my phone than T-Mobile, but I have no way of knowing since I've never used another carrier. I have a buddy who lives across the street who's with AT&T, and his reception is great too. He also owns a Razr. Most of our other neighbors complain constantly about the "lousy" coverage in our neighborhood. The people across the street just switched from AT&T to Verizon and their reception still sucks. I'm pretty sure the phone makes the biggest difference. Was this review helpful to you?
Cingular in this area is terrible. Since they made the switch it's been wretched. I am fortunate to get 1 bar in my own house. Certainly nothing in the basement. If I go stand out in the street I will get a max. of 3 bars. Very disgruntling. Customer service with Cingular is also very frustrating. DON'T USE AT&T!Was this review helpful to you?
Love my iPhone -- hate the service. AT&T is unbelievably bad here in Linden Hills. I drop calls every five minutes, even when I am standing outside not moving, and away from any trees or overhangs. Lord help me if I am talking to another AT&T customer, as I have had as many as seven drops in five minutes with a friend who also has AT&T. Here is the thing. I am supposedly in AT&Ts best coverage area. Not their better coverage area, or their good coverage area, but their best coverage area. I can only wonder what those other coverage areas would be like. I suggest that if you live around here, you look to another provider. Was this review helpful to you?
Sprint has worked very well for me in the Twin Cities over the past five years. The coverage is equal to or better than Verizon much of the time, but cheaper for more minutes. People complaining with T-Mobile and ATT: it is because those networks are GSM which has a weaker signal by design, and thus has more trouble getting into buildings or traveling long distances. For GSM customers, you must be close to a tower to receive truely good reception. CDMA is what Sprint (but not Nextel - IDEN Network), Verizon, and Qwest (Uses Sprint's network) use for their networks. Was this review helpful to you?
I use to be with Qwest and always had good reception - but since I got my iphone Im stunned by the number of dropped calls I have with the ATT network - every day, several times a day calls get dropped - I never had this problem with other phones in the past. I'm not sure if it is partly the fault of the iphone but I have a friend who also have an iphone and he experiences the same thing. I live in Summit HOuse Condos which is all concrete and a high-rise and reception in the house it not good at all - better outside for sure - but even then - the dropped calls drive me nuts. But I love the phone too much to part with it right now.Was this review helpful to you?
