Verizon

Very poor call quality. Can usually make and receive calls but most of the time the call cuts in and out. So you usually hear about 1 / 3 of the word and left guessing what was actually said.

I usually get a resonable number of bars in my house, but the quality of the calls is still poor and there are freqent problems with dropped calls and poor signals. My wifes phone seems to have even more problems than mine with call dropping and reception in our house. It seems to me that we had few complaints a year or two ago, but perhaps the traffic on the towers has overwhelmed them?

Verizon coverage is horrible in Minneapolis. 4 out of 5 calls are dropped and if they aren't dropped, the signal is so bad that a conversation is impossible. Similar to others that have posted, I called Verizon and they told me to buy a tri-mode phone. I think I'll be switching to T-Mobile...

Horrible coverage. I wanted to kidnap the Verizon nerd and have him test out this area and the rest of Minneapolis. "C__ you hea_ m_ now?" Nope!

There is sometimes a dead spot on Hwy. 36 and Dale but other than that I get great signal for both voice and data. Works fine indoors too (house built in the 80's).

Drop calls anywhere in my house there isn't an obstructed window

This phone service is awful! Thank goodness my contract is up. I am going to sign up with another company. This thing has only two bars in my own house. Forget about using it in large buildings or out of town.

I had hoped that with a new cell phone and switching from AT&T to Cingular the reception would improve. It sucks -- really bad. I cannot hear anyone who calls me on my cell. I cannot hear my voice mail when I check from home. When the power went out in my home because of a storm, I could not use my cell phone to call the electric company. T-Mobile is putting up a tower a few blocks away. I'm praying that AT&T / Cingulary share towers (I think I read somewhere that they do) and that my reception will improve. I love my Treo 650, but it is just as limited as my Nokia 5160 was in terms of reception. I've heard rumors that North Minneapolis was intentionally left with few towers to make it harder for the drug dealers to connect with buyers via their cell phones. Probably just an urban myth, but it sure seems possible--except they all seem to get better reception than I do. They must not use Cingular. I'm bummed that I signed up for 2 years to get the discount on the Treo.

Very bad reception. I think Cingular suck. They are trying to blame my phone for this issue.

Very bad reception. 80% of calls go directly to VM and / or the connetion fails within 1-2 minutes. The phone is virtually worthless at this location. Reception is better in other twin city locations but it is still very poor. About half of my calls fail do to poor signal. Can you hear me now? NO! I think that I am going to try T-mobile.
