I get very strange reception in my house. It is usually fine in on the first floor but the strength really fluctuates. I just got this new phone though and I am hopeing it will be better than the last.

Alltel service is not what it should be for a large city like Minneapolis.

The reception inside my house is practically zero. I have to stand near a window to get service. This may be due to the extra sound insulation in the neighborhood on the houses with MAC improvements? My brother has T-Mobile and gets service even in our basement! Unfortuanatly we still have 2 years on our service contract for 2 phones in a family plan and I can't seem to figure out how to get out of it.

I haven't had a problem with reception anywhere in the twin cites, from downtown Minneapolis out to the suburbs of Savage or Lino Lakes. Usable signal even off the highway in rural Wisconsin.

I have a T-Mobile prepaid plan and I have never not had a signel except for in the Dells. I have one bar, usualy, in my basement but otherwise T-Mobile is great for me.

Price of national plan is good, but very disappointing service. Unable to use inside the house: drops calls or sounds garbled. Can only call out of state family members if out in the back yard (not useful in cold or inclement weather). No plans for improved service in this area even after merging with Cingular.

This whole area is bad all the time, from CR B2 in the North, Dale St. to the west, Larpentuer Ave. to the South, and Rice St. to the east. I always drop calls in this zone.

I consistently have perfect reception all over Uptown and throughout most of downtown.

I have had T-Mobile for 5 years and this phone for 2 or 3. I lived in St. Louis Park off of Excelsior bld for 2 years before moving to Shoreview. The only place throughout the citie I could not receive service was in my apartment (built in 1950s). Also, elevators in downtown St. Paul and downtown Mpls office bldgs lost reception also. Otherwise, I have never had a dropped call or missed a call due to losing signal in the greater cities area from Wayzata to Woodbury and Shoreview to Jordan. Having a phone built for reception is key!

Sprint has excellent reception where I live in St. Louis Park, and all the way up to Coon Rapids where I work. I travel heavily with my handset, and am impressed with coverage and the "America" plan where roaming is included. Not even Verizon's nationwide plan is as complete. I do suggest Sprint customers that have a poor signal look at the handset they have. There are major differences as I have found out. Also, Sprint customers can take their handsets into a Sprint PCS store and receive a FREE tower list update to keep your phone current. This update increased the signal strength on my old handset by 100 times!
