T-Mobile

I have been with T-Mobile for year and have been very happy with their service but here is the problem; about half of the calls dialed or received the person on the other end is extremely hard to hear. They can hear me just fine. I have 2 lines with T-Mobile. It happens with both as well as a friend of mine who lives in the area. I have contacted T-Mobile. They have no clue. This has been going on for 3 weeks. I'm about to switch services.

A long time AT&T customer. Recently moved and I have dead spots and poor reception in my neighborhood and phone does not work in my house at all. Tried a different phone with the same carrier and same results. I am on a month to month at present and planning to try another carrier - T-Mobile leading the pack in my decision making process at present.

I just started with AT&T GSM (Nokia 6200), going from AT&T TDMA (Nokia 3360). Not too much experience, yet. The TDMA served me well all over the Twin Cities, but was weak inside my stucco house. The GSM service w/Nokia 6200 seems roughly the same. AT&T apparently shares T-Mobile towers. Callers say my voice is loud and clear. By the way, I've tried SprintPCS (Samsung VGA1000) and Verizon (LGVX6000). The Sprint phone wouldn't work inside my house. The Verizon phone actually worked reasonably well in the basement -- but not the best inside my office building (near Fort Snelling) until it switched to a different (roaming) tower. Dropped a call during the switch. I've decided to go with AT&T GSM because I like the phone and service has been adequate. Still waiting for the ideal phone/plan combination.

My Motorola V60 was useless in Marshall Field's and some other parts of the mall.

At work (school) the reception is great. Likewise, as we get closer to downtown St. Paul. But in the neighborhood, fuggeddaboudit. Most of the time I will get one bar, though I have been cut off in mid-conversation before. It's not like we are in the boondocks: our house is about 3 mi. from downtown St. Paul and 5 from downtown Minneapolis. I will not renew unless coverage improves.
