I can usually get 2-4 bars on my phone, but calls will drop after a few seconds after connecting. Very rarely will I get a call that will last more than 10 minutes. I have perfect reception at work which is in Downer's Grove. Since my house is near the high school, the heavy teenage overusage of cellular technology might be the reason of this pain. My parents' T-Mobile phone gets excellent service and reception here. Was this review helpful to you?
While at work, my phone keeps switching between Cingular and Cingular Extend - just sitting at my desk by a window. I've also lost the signal while driving home - heading west on Ogden toward Rt. 83.Was this review helpful to you?

Great reception, service and phone! Rarely get dropped calls, but when you call button right away, you get credited for it.Was this review helpful to you?
Out dated phones.... Lack of phone support... Phone software issues... I have had several phones, paid full price... Calls click in and out... Then they are gone, but each phone has shown that the phone is connected.... No signal in many stores where my nextel and cingular phones were fine... Dropped calls...Was this review helpful to you?
Dropped calls... Faded Calls... Verizon might have the nationwide network, but there are plenty of holes in it...Was this review helpful to you?
AT&T Wireless (TDMA)
I used to have poorer reception, but switched to a newer Nokia 6300 series and my reception is up by 50%. I travel a lot both around Chicago and the tri-state area and I have great reception now (the last time I dropped a call was in a very remote part of Wisoncsin). But ATT is phasing out the TDMA stuff like I'm sure everyone else will, so you probably need to look at the GSM results. I'll probably be switching to Nextel simply for cost reasons and glad to see no major complaints for them around Chicago. Was this review helpful to you?
Not that bad, just poor for it being close to 294, I55 and a few miles from 290Was this review helpful to you?
Great reception, problem is dropped calls. Calls either never connect or drop within seconds. Sometimes takes 5 or 6 attempts to complete a call and all my coversation are one or two words long. Maybe phone is too old, maybe network is saturated and dropping packets. Either way Sprint service has steered me away from trying them again so considering T-Mobile or ATT GSM.Was this review helpful to you?

I HATE THIS PHONE! AT&T has been less than friendly in satisfying me in this situation. I am considering terminating my contract because of all my problems. I carry a phone book, not a phone. If it is so much of a problem with only the phone I do not understand why my problems happen more often during certain days or times of day, if it is strictly a problem with the phone. The reps are hard ballers and don't really care if I stay or leave and AT&T has itself cushioned with the contract and it really doesn't have to keep you satisfied. If you go with AT&T atleast don't go with GSM unless you know about GSM tower coverage and for God's sake do not buy this phone. Was this review helpful to you?
I have excellent reception all around the Chicago land area. I've had Nextel service for one year now and never dropped a call. Was this review helpful to you?
