Sprint

Moved from AT&T to Sprint and a horrible situation only got worse. Constant dropped calls, incoming calls don't get through. Customer service is pathetic. They gave me the "airwave" to correct the problem of poor reception but that doesn't work most of the time either. They claim their records show good service and offer no explanation as to why I find service so horrible. They claim it is expected to have dropped calls. I believe they have duped me and other customers. Frustrated in fact that I have 18 months left on 2 yr contract.

US Cellular

After switching from AT&T 2 Years ago. I am now dreading the switch to Sprint! Why can't other networks and support be like US Cellular! Why oh Why?

i am a us cellular customer who is being forced to switch providers and am extremely fearful. Sprint rep has acknowledged issues with the network and countered that this is the reason that they bought us cellular- because they have the best towers in chicago (and thus the best network). this seems logical but I am not sure what to think after reading reviews...

Always on edge on my Samsung galaxy S3 or my iphone 5 drop calls text takes forever to send and receive T-Mobile sucks anywhere in Chicago

My Sprint service began getting worse last summer. This past February I had no service at all. I could not even use my phone to call Sprint customer service. I used the Sprint chat on my computer and was told the service issues would continue for 4 more months. Since I could not make or receive calls I walked to the Verizon store and changed carriers and now can make and receive calls and for the first time use the internet on my phone. I refuse to pay any type of termination fee since I could not even use the phone to call Sprint to cancel service.

US Cellular

I have been with U.S.C. since they arrived in Chicago, hate that they sold to Sprint. I had a Sprint Data Card and had to cancel it because it never got good reception on 3G and the 4G never connected. I'm going to check with my local USC rep at my neighborhood store and see what service he's going with once the change happens. Who better to ask than someone in a worse spot than me to have to change providers. I'll miss you USC.

US Cellular

Got my letter today that us cellular sold me. I have been with them since before they had that name. I even tolerated them when they renamed my ballpark! Never had a problem with service, can't believe they sold me out. Can I still have a us cellular account outside of the Midwest? If service was the same, I would gladly figure out a way!

Well, we just received our letter from U.S. Cellular that they have sold their business to Sprint. Based on the comments I have read here, I am NOT happy about it. I really appreciate the comment by the U.S. Cellular employee telling us to wait and see what offers we get from other providers before automatically jumping over to Sprint. I have to say we have used U.S. Cellular for over 12 years and have NEVER had a problem with it. Why can't other providers be as reliable? I am afraid of our cellular future. :)

Fantastic service. Have been with U S Celular since it was called PrimCo. And now the rumor that U S Celular will be taken over by monopoly of poorly rated company. Good things come to an end. I wonder if I will find another great service. It was a long good ride. Thanks for the best ride.

I have been having a lousy service since October of 2012. when I called in February the towers were expected to be finished in February. now I called yesterday and have been told that July 6 is the target date for all upgrades to be completed with Sprint. lousy customer service. it is absolutely an excruciating relationship. I pay entirely too much money each month to get disconnected calls 10 to 15 times a day.

My Sprint service was fine until they decided to upgrate to 4G LTE. Now I have spotty service downtown. When I'm standing still using my data connection, it will go from 4G to 3G to no data service all in the blink of an eye. The service is also horrible up and down State St.(from Wacker to Balbo). I recently requested for them to check the nearest tower. If it's not fixed soon I'll have to break my contract (family plan). Also, coworkers with the same phone (but with Verizon service) have excellent service.

the phone works find if I go out to the burbs in the city just bad. Customer service is a joke, they just say sorry, and dont mean it, tech support well you can tell they are not interested, and act like I an doing something wrong. All I want is a phone to make and rec calls on thats it, cant do either and drops calls all the time like every call forget sprint. Need to go back to the old land line. If we quit buying these phones and paying the bills maybe these people will get the message and get some service in chicago

Slow or no internet sitting in my car on the streets of Franklin and Madison in the Chicago loop. Glad I don't live near here. Would not be an AT&T customer if I did. Reading some of the other reviews of other carriers it doesn't seem like anyone gets decent internet in the loop. Once I leave the area internet speeds go up drastically. No problem making phone calls only web surfing is brutal. C'mon carriers fix the problem!

Dropped calls, virtually no internet connection walking across Downtown Chicago. Pathetic.

T-Mobile

I experience drop calls, internet is slow and now the Tower issue have calls coming to my phone from all over the U.S. So much for mobile phones.

I can't express how bad the service is. I lose calls while walking in my neighborhood, and the internet barely works. I have an iPhone 4S, and it may as well be a Wifi tablet for the 3G quality I get (aka none). I get the circle in my neighborhood, but the 3G I do get anywhere in the city can't pull up a basic text webpage. The only place my phone is useful is when I have Wifi. Sprint raised the rates to get out of their plans for a reason... if they didn't, they'd be in bankruptcy court right now.

Verizon

Verizon with iPhone 4 3G service cannot hold signal on train. I pay for service precisely to use on train.

Cellular One

As an employee (soon to be axed) of US Cellular, I feel for our customers. I never had our service until I actually worked here and I can honestly say it's like night and day vs other carriers I've used in the past... not just based on personal opinion but in listening to customers who come in the store saying how wonderful our service has been over the years. I hope all US Cellular users are prepared for the rude awakening right around the corner. Outside of AT&T, I've been a customer of all the other major carriers. I see comments here by current USCC customers and I can sympathize with their concern. I've had issues with all of them and Sprint ranks #1 on my sh!t list. Looking for a place to go? The best answer I can provide is Verizon. They're the only carrier even remotely close to our ratings in phone service. But don't jump ship just yet... there's a half-million of you all in the same boat. And where there's a large exodus, major offers are sure to come from rivals to steal that business. Wait for the right offer from your desired carrier. We're not closing our doors just yet and you have plenty of time to find the right deal.

It says that I have full signal, yet I am completely unable to make calls or send texts. Incoming phone calls don't come through, and texts take hours to show up. Oddly, data works fine.

Cannot use the internet or get e-mails on my phone at home. Sending messages is very slow and often they do not go thru. If this continues I will switch carrier.

Used to have great reception when I first received my phone in Oct 2012. Since January 2013 the 3G is intermitant. Many days at zero.

Our reception used to be fine in our condo, but it drastically decreased in the summer of 2012. Now we drop calls all the time and calls often cut in and out. We plan to switch companies very soon.

Constantly miss texts, need to switch phone on and off daily in order to reset and get connectivity. Internet takes forever. Sometimes takes minutes to get an outgoing call to go through! Frustrated beyond belief.

The lousiest service ever, I never dealt with a lousy provider like this one, They are a punch of cons, I get delayed messages, sometimes hours later, I get missed call with the phone not ringing, dropped calls most of the time. I was promised by Sprint in August that the service will improve in two months due to extra towers installation, punch of crap, this is December and nothing was done. I called to cancel service they insisted that I pay the penalty for canceling service. Well they don't want to listen that they breached the contract for not providing the promised service. I will pay the $200.00 penalty but I will not stay with this stupid company... .

We have had 4 or 5 different brands of phones and none of them work in our house. We're in a Sprint dead zone.

basement= no data, 1st floor=3g, 2nd floor= 4g or that was they case about a week ago now basement and 1st floor no data and 2nd floor 3g. Now to top it off my text messages won't go through and my calls barely get through. People say they called me but never received any call come on Sprint I had high hopes for you with the whole Network Vision plan, you letting me down.

Reception is terrible both inside and outside my apartment. I'll literally have to walk down the block to be able to hold a conversation. Wasn't always this way. Wish Sprint would improve its quality
