AT&T
My AT&T service works good everywhere I go in Chicago both indoors and outdoors, even when traveling by car to Detroit when taking i-94 east where it's nothing but asphalt, fields and trees for miles I still get LTE signal or 4G at the least but I always have service. Data speeds are satisfactory, until my gf got Verizon wireless yesterday and we did several speed tests and I got destroyed each time. It took under 8 seconds to download Candy Crush Saga on Verizon and 24 seconds on AT&T.

AT&T is awful. I have no service in my own home, and can't make any calls within a few miles.

A virtual LTE dead zone, with occasional outages that extend to 3G and even EDGE. Very frustrating, as TMO is rolling out Band 12 in every major city, but due to licensing, won't have it in Chicago any time soon.

4G LTE speeds are terrible. Even with full reception, speeds feel throttled. Possibly not enough towers to handle the volume or some sort of government scrambling. No problems at all outside of the loop.

Great phone reception, some delays downloading / viewing videos

Visiting Chicago for the weekend and my phones show 3 bars everywhere with AT&T with 4G LTE but the data speeds are so so slow. No matter where in Chicago we went out, it was the same deal. GPS doesn't load fast and says you are several blocks from your actual location. This occurred at Ohare, Willis tower area, Grant Park, Mag Mile. AT&T needs to make some upgrades here.

Forgot to mention! If it rains, say goodbye to your service! It stormed last week and I couldn't make / receive calls or texts for 2 hours!

The worst freaking data ever. I mean, deplorable. I call and complain about my 1x speed so much I get a $15 credit on my bill every month. It's ridiculous! We pay for this extravagant LTE service, but it's never properly functioning. I work downtown, and it's the worst. I regularly spend 25 minutes watching a buffering 5 minute video. Miss my bus because my GPS won't load in time. You can complain all you want, you never get a real solution or explanation, they always blame it on the "towers" or an "area outage" and say someone will get to it. Even when I told customer services I went to the store and they showed me the map with no issues in a 10 mile radius, they blamed it on a local tower. I've got a brand new phone, replacement phone, I do the ##873283# update until I'm blue in the face. There really is no excuse. Sprint should be ashamed of themselves. If you're really dependent on data, I would say stay far away.

After moving to an area where everyone and their mother is on T-Mobile / Metro PCS, I got sick of paying over $120 / mo for basically only being able to call. Texting wouldn't always go through and "LTE" speeds were laughable at a consistent 0.14 Mbps with up to a 165ms ping. My coverage is a lot better especially in downtown and goldcoast area. I get great data speeds now and benchmark tests hit up to 33.6Mbps. So far I'm very satisfied with the quality of service but I have not yet traveled outside of Cook County yet. I have an unlocked T-Mobile Samsung Note 3 and I do get excellent LTE service with AT&T in Chicago.

In Water Tower residence with very little reception with Verizon. Have many dropped calls if received.
