AT&T

I get good coverage from my office in Clayton. However, I have gotten poor coverage from my 8th story apt in CWE and my apartment in Lafayette Square. The company has tried numerous software / networks tricks and I just happen they didn't cost me anything. Also, the V400 is a phone with numerous bugs. I only purchased it for GSM because Cingular reps convinced me my service woes were because of my old cell phone model (the first Motorola flip phone, but I forget the model number) I have friends who have had sucess talking freely in both my apartments. They are with T-Mobile and Sprint. Cingular is also on the higher end.

I hate Cingular. I live in a dead zone. My life is filled with dropped calls and crappy reception.

I work at Wash. U. Medical School and I get no reception inside of the entire medical complex. I used to have Verizon and I would get 2 bars in most locations in the complex. I have complained to Sprint, but they have done nothing.

Currently I have 2 bars which is most of the time. Occasionally I have 3 bars. The only time I have seen 5 bars is if I'm right next to a tower.

in a forth floor apartmet I do not have to sit by the window to talk. I can't talk in the elevator, but thats fine. I get great reception anywhere around where I live (dogtown / high-pointe area). never have had a problem. even driving down to the lake its great.

Reception terrible in 11th floor condo. Consistently lose service. Service falls of when walking from one part of room to another.

I get good signal outside, poor to sometimes no signal in my house. Standing in the doorway the signal gets good. Service is average, better than I had with T-Mobile. I dropped my cell coverage to go with Vonage, $25 a month now with unlimited minutes to the US and Canada. A good deal for me.

I get good reception outside the building, but once I'm inside I barely get any signal. Have had dropped calls. It seems like Cingular doesn't have too good of a service outside the metro limits.

Great reception even in a building. Drops off inside elevators though.

Works well near home, even in the basement. Phone is over a year old and never a dropped call at home. Also have excellent reception throughout U City / Delmar Loop and Wash U campus.
