Switched to T-Mobile from useless AT&T and have had no problems with them at all. They do need to get 3G here though because most of the apps do not work that great using the EDGE or 2G speed even though their website says they do. The internet is also slow and very limited on the 2G. It's a waste of time even trying to stream videos from YouTube for example until they get the 3G here. I have figured out that Samsung phones, for some reason, absolutely work the best with T-Mobile. Also, it is a very cheap alternative to other wireless carriers. Beware that the few apps that are available for their phones seem to all require an additional monthly fee so I try to find free third-party apps that will work on my phone. Was this review helpful to you?
Usually 3 bars or less but never really had any problems. There's got to be something that works better in El Dorado. Was this review helpful to you?
Switch from AT&T due to lack of native service and roaming. Verizon (now owns alltel) has great service all over the state. 3G data everywhere I go.Was this review helpful to you?
i've been with t mobile for 6 yrs since I moved here from cali and t mobile is awesome! I have great reception and I only pay 80 bucks a month and I have unlimited everything! ( the loyalty plan) I used to have Sprint but they were too expensive and there phones would drop calls after your on the phone for over 10 mins the damn thing would heat up and turn off...Was this review helpful to you?
Reception wise its not horrible, but the phone does cut in a out a lot. I've had nothing but problems with Sprint from day 1. I am glad my contract is over this month! I'm going elsewhere! Was this review helpful to you?
I have been with Alltel for 3 years and would not recommend them to ANYONE. As far as reception they are great but when I started having problems with my MOTO Q (which they had record was a bad phone) they refused for a year to replace the phone for me, after returning it several times and finding that there was nothing I'd done to damage the phone; the customer service people were very rude and very unhelpful. I had to contact a supervisor after being hung up on by a rep. and the supervisor accused me of lying about my phone. FINNALLY after a year of going around with this they said they would give me a new phone for free because of their error but when I got my next bill they charged me for the phone anyways and refused to take the charges away and shut my services off until I pay the bill in full. I just decided to go with another company. Was this review helpful to you?
I have had AT&T (Cingular) for 4 years now. The reception is EXCELLENT everywhere in Wichita (and I mean everywhere.) I also had great luck around surroundings (all the way to Oklahoma.) I am very happy with my cell service. I used it all over North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rica) with NO problems at all and with NO roaming at all. I also used my phone with great service in the following countries with EXCELLENT coverage: South America: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Domican Republic, Bolivia, Colombia. Europe: Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Findland, Norway, Italy, Greece, UK, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, Denmark, Russia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Iceland. Middle East: Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, Egypt, Sauid Arabia, Morocco, Turkey. APAC: Singapore, India, Malaysia, Japan, China. South Korea was the ONLY place I had major reception problem. I have had Cingular / AT&T for 11 years, while living in Alabama and now Wichita. For 8 years with Cingular, I don't think I EVER had a dropped call. As soon as Cingular was bought out by AT&T, we've had dropped calls constantly on all 3-4 phones on our plan (various makes / models) both in Alabama and now in Wichita. I've spent hours with customer service and been told all sorts of things, but nothing makes any difference. I can't afford to cancel contracts on this many phones, but will leave AT&T as soon as our contracts are all up and will never go back. Was this review helpful to you?
I switched in October 2008 to T-Mobile. I have the fancy Dash phone, which is pure junk. My phone gets hot and shuts off, the applications won't work correctly and service is really bad. I call every week to the customer care center, they have sent me new phones and new batteries. Nothing seems to work. I get missed calls and the phone won't even ring. When it does ring, its only a split second. I am very unsatisfied with this phone and service. Not once have they offered to give me credit on my bill for not being able to send texts or have calls. I pay $180 each month for 2 phones. I pay for ring tones that I can't use on the phone, and its it the format suggested by T-Mobile. The customer care line has people answering the phones with accent that makes it hard to understand. I would not recommend the phones or T-Mobile for service. I am looking at switching back to my old carrier, Sprint. Was this review helpful to you?
I can honestly say that Alltel seems to have the best coverage, in and around Wichita, of any of the major carriers. I had Verizon for a long time(3 years) and my girlfriend had Alltel. After a few years of dating, we noticed that there were a number of occassions in which I would have to use her phone because mine (Verizon) didn't have coverage. South and West of Wichita in the more rural communites, Alltel wins hands-down. Inside of Wichita, it's about even. I'm actually using Sprint now because I have / love the Samsung Instinct but still rate the top three carriers, in order of best coverage, as Alltel, Verizon and Sprint. Was this review helpful to you?
