Can get 1 bar in 2 locations in my house. Drop calls about every 15 seconds for blocks around my house. I drop calls at 13th and Broadway (practically the center of town) and on Rock Rd.(hardly rural). I am so glad my contract with Sprint is up in 2 months.

T-Mobile reception is pretty good in Wichita. In some places, AT&T is better, but those are few and far between. Dropped calls don't happen. Data network is still 2G here, thus a little slow, but several models are WiFi-enabled. Also, many of those models are capable of placing calls / texts / etc. over the WiFi, so if you can't reach a tower, you're fine as long as you can reach the Internet. Probably the best or next to best carrier in Wichita. Watch for their free phones, though. Free phones are free for a reason.

Alltell Is crap! Over 2 years tons of droped calls Husband hollering at me cause I don't hear the phone ring, and it never did, in our home, missed calls the phone never rings. Got to step outside to get reception to make a call.

I had to walk outside my work place to the parking lot to get a signal; inside my connection was completely dead. I couldn't even check messages. All the while Verizon users and Alltell, T-Mobile users were inside with no problems. I am going to cancel my plan and pay the penalty.

I've had AT&T (Cingular) in many parts of the nation. I've always had great reception. Wichita has been another story. I consistently have dropped calls. It doesn't work near my work near McConnell. I checked, and I have a cell tower less than half a mile away from my house, yet the signal is below average upstairs and spotty at best in the basement. What gives? AT&T needs to clean up their act, or they're going to lose a lot of customers.

I have had T-Mobile for a couple of years now, and it is pretty good. Their plans are cheap, customer service is usually very helpful and MOST of the time I do not have a problem with reception. Lately I have had some problems receiving calls and messages, but my phone is several years old and has been dropped 5 too many times. Overall, T-Mobile is pretty good.

Switched from Verizon to Cingular to get a family plan where all the family is "covered." Terrible mistake. Verizon reception was strong in my basement office, but Cingular frequently drops my calls. In fact, Cingular drops my calls wherever I go in my car. Verizon almost never did. Cingular billing is a mess, and hard to get fixed.

Horrible reception at Central and Hillside and at my home near 53rd St. North and Seneca. Complained for three days in a row at the North Rock Alltel and they called the police on thew third time. No action was taken by police but they said if I came back to complain that they would issue a no trespassing order. All I wanted to do was drop my contract after having the phone for only six weeks. They said it would cost me $400.00 to do it. Not concerened that I was not getting reception at home and at work. Horrible company.

Cingular has no better reception than T-Mobile, but has much higher rate plans. Customer service with Cingular is pathetic at best. Will be switching back to T-Mobile.
