Doesn't matter how many bars of service you have with this carrier you will have many dropped calls. It's a good thing they credit a minute back to your bill for dropped calls because you are going to need it. Most of the time when you make a call you switch to analog, eating up your battery. I purchased a national plan with no roaming in the U.S. and have had roaming charges on bill while I was in Wichita. When I called about this the service rep asked me if I read the fine print on the coverage map. I am done with Alltel. Was this review helpful to you?
I usually get only the bottom bar or two for signal all around town. Best signal around 13th and West St. area, north side of town. There have been some occasions when I will have absolutely zero service for the greater part of the day. I have been told it is my phone, but model but I don't know about that. Thinking about switching to Cingular or T-Mobile here in a couple weeks. I know Sprint here sucks. Was this review helpful to you?
Switched from Sprint, having been told GSM would penetrate my house better (near Friends U.) and give me better reception. Nope. One or two stripes in much of my house, and I get in-and-out reception with most calls (at least with Sprint, once I connected, I had a clear call). Seriously thinking about jumping to Verizon now.Was this review helpful to you?
This phone and service works when all others fail. I bought this phone new in 2000 after my third year with cellular one / verizon and it's still going stong. I'm still with Verizon because of good reception everywhere I go.Was this review helpful to you?
Reception is excellent, but Cricket refused to give my rebate and threatened to turn phone off because I inadvertently underpaid my bill one penney! Was this review helpful to you?
always works, I never have any problem with it. always have had verizon, and always willWas this review helpful to you?
Have no problems using my VZW phone around Wichita and on the AC plan it also works good in Ks, Ok and TX.Was this review helpful to you?
Just switched from Cingular to Verizon and cannot believe the difference. It is like day and night between the two companies as far as reception is concerned. Was this review helpful to you?
Just moved from out of state and have had Cingular for the past 6 years or so. I have never had the problem with poor reception and dropped calls as I have in Wichita the first 2 weeks I have had the service. I am getting out before my 30 day trial period is up. I can't see doing this for 2 years! The reception is terrible all over Wichita for the most part, but the dropped calls is the most annoying. Was this review helpful to you?
Clearwater has no cell reception for being a bedroom community to Wichita... can analog roam and etc. on my new Sanyo, but single-band is in the dark. This is due to change. In less than a year I'll be living in the shadow of a 200' tall Verizon tower, so maybe (just maybe) they'll piggyback a Sprint repeater on it.Was this review helpful to you?
