Sprint

I have absolutely no coverage in my office or in the parking lot. It takes almost 15-20 minutes to transfer emails with attachments to my desk top from my phone. I will be switching to Verizon when my contract expires in 2 weeks. I am sad as I have been a Sprint customer for over 17 years. Prior to that I was a Sprint home phone customer and past employee of 13 years. But I can't handle the fact that I am paying for 4g and get 0 data service. Goodbye Sprint. I will miss you... but not your slow network.

I had a Tracfone for years (which wasn't fancy but reliable)and all of a sudden it could not get any signal from my home. So switched to AT&T. Bad move... Just to clarify... the sales rep was great and offered an affordable family plan. Very helpful and nice, don't get me wrong. But reception is an absolute nightmare. You are better off sending smoke signals. And I regret I don't exaggerate. I had my new phone for only 7 days before I had to bite the bullet. I understand there are dead zones, and also dead "phones". This is what the main issue was: I work in what some would call the middle of town (or kinda close, 120th and Center). I have to keep in touch with about 50 people a week..roughly. (With no secretary) I didn't get signal anywhere near that location. The other employees even laughed at me for being the only one who had no cellphone signal! I didn't get any signal until after each workday until I got to 96th and L. And even then it would fade in and out rapidly. I am not a "griper" I hardly ever write any bad reviews. I just want to warn others of the costly mistake that (happened to me, may not to you... ) But what I can say is I paid the "early termination" fee (after only 7 days)in the contract but... it was money well worth the change to Verizon. My wife couldn't even get signal on her phone on 72nd through AT&T. I understand everyone has some issues with every carrier. The AT&T store was very supportive and friendly, but Verizon has had the best coverage I've had to date. And I don't need anything fancy... just to be able to send and receive texts in the greater metro! Go with Verizon... everyone else I know does and has no signal problems as of yet! Hope this saves someone some $$$!

Reception is excellent, phone calls are great. Data service is utterly UNUSABLE. I frequently see sub-dialup speeds and multi-thousand ms ping rates, and even the best speeds I've gotten in the past 6 months are 40-50 times slower than Verizon!

Service is lost from 7 to 9 AM and 3 to 5 PM daily. Due to sparcity of cell towers and communiction overload on existing towers.

T-Mobile has basically no coverage in Omaha. They borrow AT&T's towers and put their own antennas on it. How many towers in the Omaha / Council Bluffs area you ask? 5 or 6. Yep. Verizon / AT&T each have nearly 100. You read that right. Stay away from T-Mobile.

I never have problems with dropped calls in my neighborhood or anywhere in the city. I've been an Alltel / Verizon customer over 10 years. This may be due to me frequently updating my programming, [*228, option 2] or just always being covered well wherever I am. Even out of town I don't have problems. If a call does drop, it's always during a call with my Sprint friend's and it's their phones because they have low coverage where they are located. Only thing I have a problem with is not finding a cheaper plan. :)

I've had AT&T for the past 2+ years and have had some problems in the beginning with dropped calls, poor service, etc., but things are better and I haven't had these problems since except for the occasional instance where they were probably working on their network. My only real complaint about AT&T and some of the other carriers, such as Verizon, are they expense attached with them (my current bill is about $99 / month). I came to this site looking for alternate, less expensive providers and think I will give their GoPhone plan a try.

Sprint 3G service is rarely available inside or outside my home off S 52nd St. and Howard St. There is no Sprint service when I drive to: a) HyVee on Center St. b) Post Office on Saddle Creek c) J.CoCo restaurant on Leavenworth d) UNO campus on Dodge e) AKSARBEN Cinema f) Mark's restaurant on Underwood There is no 4G service available in Omaha via Sprint. Today I drove around the perimeter of Westwood Mall for 15 minutes trying to find a Sprint signal so I could make a phone call. Buyers Beware: I strongly regret having a 2 year contract with Sprint for a service that provides so poorly. I have no complaint with the phone I purchased other than its like having a race car with no fuel.
