AT&T

Stay away from AT&T in Omaha! I had Sprint for 4 years in Omaha with no complaints. My work switched me to AT&T and the coverage is HORRIBLE. Calls ALWAYS get dropped at 144th and Blondo, which is on my way home from work, so it happens to me all the time. Also, when I leave work I have to tke the elevator down to the lobby. My phone loses all reception when I get in the elevator, and doesn't start working again for over 10 minutes. I can get halfway across the city in my car, and I still won't have service after losing it in the elevator. I thought it was the phone, so I sent it back, and got a new one. Same problem. It's the service, not the phone. And, if anyone tries to call me during this 10-15 minutes of no service, it rings once for them, and then nothing. They can't even leave me a voicemail. I've had several people complain about that when they call me. I wouldn't recommend AT&T service in Omaha to my worst enemy. My company has an agreement with AT&T, so I'm stuck with it. It's so bad, I'm seriously considering getting a another phone with Sprint or Verizon and paying for it out of my own pocket. That's how worthless AT&T is in Omaha.

Horrible reception in my apartment. Even out on the portch standing absolutely still. Lucky to get two bars half the time. Sometimes no reception at all and I'll relaize I have a voicemail from an hour or two earlier since the reception pops back in.

I have had the same ATT phone number for 4 or 5 years since living in California and get great reception in all areas of Omaha I got to including Old Market, midtown, 50th and Q, waaaaay out west, etc. The only place it's not good is if I go to Iowa around Crescent. I wonder why so many people are having such poor coverage? I have an out of state area code, but I don't know why that would make a difference.

Verizon has excellent reception in and around Omaha North High School. Could be because there is a tower on the back of the school. Citywide, I haven't dropped a call yet. I'm sure Verizon has dead spots but, it has the best coverage in Nebraska. I've used AT&T and reception was awful. I love the iPhone but, I'm staying with my LG Chocolate, which is on Verizon.

I had service with AT&T and it had absolutely deplorable service. There is a cell tower 400 yards from my house and I can't get any bars. I switched to Verizon Wireless the other day and the results were drastic! With AT&T I got no service in my home, but with Verizon I have all 4 bars. AT&T does not work in the Omaha area.

Love Alltel service in Omaha, except downtown where no service or dropped calls is the norm. Alltel also has really great coverage throughout Nebraska and Western IA Matt in Omaha

Although I love my iPhone, I am considering switching as AT&T's service coverage is absolutely horrible. The only mistake Apple made with the iPhone was partnering with a substandard carrier such as AT&T. I have no reception in my house and have lost several sales calls as a result of poor reception or dropped calls.

Depends on what phone you have. Do not try one with out a Antenna on it or plan on standing outside your house to talk. I have tried several brands and found out that the hard way.

I moved to 90th / Harney from another east central location and now my Sprint service doesn't work at all. Even when I go outside, the reception is dropped, completely garbled. I had no probllems before the move. Everyone around here says the service is terrible. How can a city the size of Omaha have no service in the middle of town!

Too many dropped calls. But from comments above, all carriers seem to suffer the same problem. Maybe Omaha in general has terrible coverage.
