My cell phone service is abyssmal! My phone would better be used as a paperweight at this point. Calls can neither get through, nor can I make them without repeated attempts (usually 5 or 6). I am new to the city and I am a female so having a phone is a relevant part of feeling safe. I believe that Cingular has a lawsuit waiting to happen when someone needs to make a call for safety purposes and cannot and suffers some result. Any information on getting out of cingular?

Outside signal is fine, but inside there can be problems depending on the house. For example, in my apartment (Carrollton area) I get no signal if not near a window or the door.

My phone never rings, yet I recieve voicemail messages that I cannot check. I never have coverage and rarely am graced with the privelidge of having a call connect. On occasions when my calls DO connect, they are dropped. I am paying way too much money to never be able to use my phone. It isn't just in the house, either. When I walk outside into the yard to try and get coverage or driving down St. Charles, it rarely works, either. I want to throw the phone away. Cingular is HORRIBLE! Don't do it!

Basically, blanket coverage - Kenner, Metairie, Downtown, Uptown, Jefferson, all of the westbank, LaPlace to Baton Rouge - always have 4 bars and up. There is one bad spot on the Huey P Long and one on the Causeway, but other than that, I never drop calls. Using a 3G phone on the EV-DO network, and IT ROCKS! When Sprint finally moves everything to WiMax, you're gonna be begging to get some of this! Migrated from Nextel and it was the best choice I ever made! Have a freind with Verizon service and a new Razor V3m. Standing right next to me in a steel framed building, he barely scraped together one bar while I was sitting on five. WiMax is gonna rule. Sprint bought 2.5 GHz spectrum years ago and it's gonna pay off very soon! Stay Tuned!

Switched from Sprint because of poor reception, but Cingular is even worse. Most of my calls get dropped or the conversation is unintelligible because of the spotty reception. Reception is non-existant inside buildings.

ZERO RECEPTION. Has to travel all the way down to uptown to get SOME signal. This can't be happening. Cingular refuse to waive cancelation fee.

After six months of complaining - there is no service here - and this is the populated area of new orleans!

Ever since Katrina, Sprint coverage in my home area has taken a drop. Hopefully it will improve.

Reception at my house in Algiers has gone from bad to non-existant (most of the time). It was bad before Katrina. Now I have to go outside and use the antenna in the car to get any reception. I called Cingular to discuss the problem and they had to call me back on my land-line to have the discussion. While outside my house the incoming calls go directly to phone-mail because of the poor service. It takes 5-10 calls to connect to phone mail, while outside my house. I am 1 mile from the nearest tower. Cingular tells me they are upgrading the towers. We will see.

Always have reception. Except in WalMart. Other than that it depends on the phone I think. My husband has cingular, and he always misses or drops my calls.
