Since the big AT&T purchase my cellular service has gone to pot.Was this review helpful to you?
My phone drops calls on a near daily basis!. I am merely a half mile or two from NUMEROUS towers yet have HORRIBLE recption. Funny thing is calls routinely drop between 11-15 minutes even though I am showing complete reception strength! Recently, calls have been lasting up to 50 minutes with crashing. It is extremely frustrating and obnoxious!I have gotten two new phones, and three new chargers over the past 8 months and keep hearing the same tired excuses when I go to my TMobile location. I'm told that these are just "bad" phones and "bad" chargers. Translation, "I don't know, I don't care, and I'm not about to get off my ass" to give good customer service! I can't seem to correct these problems no matter what avenue I take or how I go about taking it! Presently, since getting yet another new phone, I can not check VM, dial or receive calls, connect to tzones or web, etc. I have full "bars" as I begin to dial number, after dialing for a few secs, I receive a "call failed" message and show NO "bars"! A friend of mine also indicated that this location was HORRIBLE for cell phones but, like myself, she could not explain WHY there is crappy service here. Anyone know the S Tulsa area? Sure would appreciate ANY tips you may have to ensure reception! THXWas this review helpful to you?
Down hill, west of 71st and Yale. Very poor reception - bars drop when call is taken. AT&T (TDMA) was good at this location, as is T-Mobile (GSM).Was this review helpful to you?

Dropped calls all the time. Also, my uncle from Mass. came down for a visit and also complained that Nextel has poor reception in a lot of buildings. I have the same problem here. Works fine outside, but indoors, it sucks. Was this review helpful to you?
I work for cingular. Honest I have seen an improvment on coverage on my phone... although yes some phones do have better reception than other. DO NOT buy the Samsung X427or X427M also I recommend staying away from Siemens. Was this review helpful to you?
Stinks from 15 and Peoria to 51 and Peoria, Works outside but not inside buildings. Was told in Jan 04, June 04, July 04, and December 04, they're going to put a tower in brookside, I'll know when I can call my wife while in albertsons or walmart market on peoria and ask a question while shopping and I actually don't get cut off. It still stinks in brookside and utica square, and St. Johns Entire complex as of 04.16.2005.Was this review helpful to you?
Since US Cellular installed a new antenna in the 81st and Yale area towards the end of 2004, over 50% of our calls are now dropped for both the wife and myself (both US Cellular customers with separate #'s and diffent makes of phone. Mine LG, wife's Nokia). They informed us that it would take 2.5 months to cure the problem. After 3.5 months they have stated today that they cannot resolve the problem and advised us to terminate our contract with US Cellular and change to a new service provider. Was this review helpful to you?
The only places I seem to have problems with Nextel in the Tulsa area is at: Utica Square, The Philbrook Museum and on Peoria from 31st to 51st street. Also, going into some buildings messes things up. Also, Creek Turnpike around Memorial is kinda bad. Too many trees. Was this review helpful to you?
I'm the same bus driver that wrote a review on this site for US Cellular on July 30, 2004. I mentioned in my last review all the troubles I was having but that I was going to change from US Cellular's TDMA system to their new CDMA system to try it out first before I changed providers. I renewed my contract for two years last October. These past four months of cellular service have been GREAT! GREAT coverage, 5 bars of signal most everywhere I go. No dropped calls! No warbled calls! No calls cutting out! I did have ONE, repeat, ONE dropped call, and that was in Sam's Club deep in the middle of the building. So needless to say, I love US Cellular's new CDMA system! I'm a bus driver and I've been all over Tulsa and over quite a bit of NE Oklahoma and have had great coverage! Plus the plan I'm on beats anyone else hands down. $55 bucks a month gets me 1500 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends starting at 7pm, unlimited mobile to mobile, and unlimited incoming calls! I have looked at all the coverage maps of different cellular providers and US Cellular has the largest coverage area in Oklahoma! Wonderful customer service! Now my dislikes about US Cellular. They don't have very many phones to choose from. They don't have internet access. They charge too much for their "Easyedge" service. Overall I am very pleased with US Cellular and if they keep up the good service I will be a customer for a long time. Was this review helpful to you?
