Switched to Cingular GSM from ATT GSM(due to merge) I used a Sony Erricson T616 for 2 yrs and had a "good" signal in this area (T616 has a well known poor reception) bought a Motorola V551 in an upgrade and the signal is extremely poor (Cricket works better out here... lol). I don't know if it's the phone or Cingular's network. All I know is ATT GSM worked fine and Cingular's doesn't.Was this review helpful to you?
Very happy with cingular and this phone. However, my dad has the Samsung SGH-X427m on the same plan as me and his reception isnt nearly as good. I have not had any other phones besides Nokia 5165 and 6340i.Was this review helpful to you?
Just switched from TDMA to GSM on Cingular. The old TDMA phone reception was almost always fine but my GSM phone seems to cut out a bit more. So far, I would say it's about average quality. Nothing special certainly, but good enough that I won't change carriers. Was this review helpful to you?
I live on the second floor in an apartment complex and get poor reception with my Sprint PCS phone. I don't know what the deal is.Was this review helpful to you?
I live in a second floor apartment and can not use my cellular phone unless I go stand in the parking lot, away from any buildings. Even on Riverpark trail I get a lot of static. I went to the dealer to ask about options for improving my reception, and they blew me off. I can't wait to change carriers. Was this review helpful to you?
I generally get good reception all around Tulsa. I'm a bus driver so I get around town often. I do have a problem with my phone cutting out, drops calls often, and occasionally warbles a call. Out of town calls in Vinita and Miami were staticy. I am not sure if it's my phone or their service. I've had my phone flashed and the technicians have done something to it that fixed the problem for a while. I use a Nokia 5165 on US Cellular's TDMA system. Next I am going to try their CDMA system before I switch cellular companies. The ONLY reason I am going to give this company a second chance after this two year contract is because they have really good offers that aren't too expensive! Before US Cellular I used Cingular for 6 years before they went GSM. But that was two years ago. The only reason I changed were because they were too expensive. Other than that Cingular was Excellent! Excellent reception, coverage, and phones! If I leave US Cellular I will definitely go back to Cingular! Was this review helpful to you?
GSM network seems to be very spotty in South Tulsa. Same problems with AT&T (probably same towers). Was this review helpful to you?
