All our phones are Samsungs from high end to low end price. Zero issues. We use T mobile from Walmart. Less than $90 / mo for 3 phones with 4G and unlimited everything except data which we never go near the limit and it can be added if needed. The service is lightning fast and the only calls we drop are when we're out in the boonies or my mom in a cement apartment building.

Only get one bar in the house. If I drive across town and get close to a tower, of course, it's much better. I have heard people say AT&T just isn't focusing on Coppell, and my experience supports that. Disappointing, because my company uses AT&T and I have no choice but to use them.

T-mobile advertises itself as the UN-carrier. After a week in their lousy network I'd say they're the NON-carrier. In Dallas, about 20% of the time I don't have ANY data connection. Out of Dallas I have data about 20% of the time. This is a classic cell phone carrier providing 3G internet on some spots. I thought Sprint has a poor coverage, but now Sprint seems to be a great carrier.

Never understood all the complaints about mobile voice service providers. Most problems have to do with the phones we use (and most of us make buying decisions based on features other than voice communication). In my house, I have sweet spots and and almost-dead spots. 9 miles away at the north end of the DFW airport, I get stellar service when ***OUTSIDE*** my office building. Go inside and the phone service dies the further you get toward the center of the building. 6 miles north in Lake Highlands, I get great service outside and inside a friend's house near I-35. Move west and reception begins to fade but always present when outside. Go inside a restaurant near Long Prairie Rd and service is hit or miss. It all depends on distance from tower and metallic structure of the building you're in. Oh, and your phone. Yeah, that's kind of important. I've used my same Nexus 4 with ATT, Verizon and TMobile. Changed providers not due to reception but to price. Reception is the same in all the above locations, or as near as makes no difference, on the same Nexus 4. I have a Nexus 1 and and old Palm Treo 650. I can put my SIM in these (and have done so for testing purposes) and determined that that Nexus 1 sucks as far as reception goes. Amazingly, the 2006 ancient technology of the Palm Treo has ZERO reception problems in the above areas. Maybe it's the external antenna stub or something, but the lesson is rather clear. Don't blame the providers if you're in a high population area and getting bad reception. Blame your phone manufacturer. Or probably more correctly, blame yourself for not checking, you know, whether or not the PHONE WORKS WELL on that whiz-bang smart phone you just gotta have! Get one of your friends with the phone you just GOTTA have to go with you to your regular haunts. Check the reception. If it ain't good, then choose a different phone or prepare to be complaining all the time about how lousy your phone service is. True enough, there are cities with topography that can yield black spots. Other than Sprint CMDA though, or old phones, the towers in use today in big cities are shared by the big companies. If your service sucks with ATT in one spot, it will also suck with Verizon and TMobile. Check it out, first. Buy your friend lunch and have them go with you to all your favorite places. Take the friend home and check reception from all rooms of your house. If the phone isn't performing well, then decide what is most important; reliable voice calls, or everything else except voice calls.

I get intermittent 4G at my home on college and riverside

Horrific signal reception within a 2 mile radius of this location (-120+ db). Pretty central location in Dallas to not have mobile phone service in my opinion.

Terrible ! Drops calls 50%. More than 50% of incoming calls go straight to voice mail and take 1 / 2 hour to get there. Rarely have more than 2 bars, except in the wee hours of the night. Store told me for last 6 months that they're still working on towers in north Dallas. Last month they blamed it on my phone and told me to upgrade (with new 2 yr contract, of course) Won't let me out of contract and had no sympathy for my $80+ bill that I'm paying for NO service!
