AT&T

Highland Park I have witnessed always tends to have lousy cell service both for my Nokia and on my previously owned nextel, however I have people telling me they get great service so, it may just be my phone or my luck...

We great reception with T-Mobile in this area, even in the basement garage of our building. 5 bars all the time. I have found a few dead spots in other parts of town, however.

Not sure what is going on, but service has gotten noticeably worse in the last few months. For example, at home now (off of Oaklawn and Congress), I have to move around the house to get a clear signal. Also, when I drive from downtown Dallas to the airport there are two hard bounces that always knock me off, and that never happened before in the first three years I had the phone. (Well, back then it was with AT&T but now Cingular). One would think one could travel from Dallas to DFW without losing a signal.

This phone gets great reception with Cingular, except in understandable trouble spots like parking garages, elevators, etc. Even there, it still gets 2-3 bars. My LG flip's reception (also Cing) isn't quite as strong. One note: on both phones, there seems to be a very weak signal northeast of Love Field. If you could draw a line as the crow flies from Lemmon / Northwest Hwy. to Midway / Walnut Hill, it is not uncommon to get dropped calls and "No Signal" errors along that line. It is worst along Park from Lakemont to Midway. Not sure what's up on that stretch of terrain, although there is a power station nearby. Outside of that Twilight Zone, the phone is perfect nearly all the time.

I've used T-Mobile, Sprint, and Cingular. Of the three, Cingular seems to get the best reception. All of my neighbors report bad cell phone reception, especially inside their houses. It's not uncommon for me to step outside into my front yard to place a call, and see three of four of my neighbors doing the same thing! Reception seems to have become stronger in the last few weeks - maybe somebody heard the complaints and put a tower in nearby.

Out service is reasonable 3-4 bars early in the morning when you don't need it. As the day wears on it deteriates to anywhere from no service to 2 bars. When you do get serviceduring the day it's staticy, breaks up and is not usalble! It stinks! Looking for a way out! and another option! Also, I was sold a Motorola phone that was touted to be so much better than my old Nokia -- phooey!

Reception varies from 0 to 4 bars-- over a period of 15 minutes! On the aveage, 2 bars, which is kind of adisappointment.
