I was with Cingular and never got reception in my home, or at school (North Harris College). Went with Verizon and I get coverage everywhere. I've never had a dropped call. Only complaint is Verizon's phone selection, and occationally I'll hear my voice echo during a call.

It was good until I switched to a GSM plan. After that I rarely got reception and always get dropped calls.

We have had cell phone service with Verizon since 2001. At the beginning the service was great and we added a total of four lines under a new contract each one. When we changed the calling plans from anytime to the smallest plan due to budget constrains the sevice and connection also decreased. This service does not work anywhere passing I-45 in Houston. Meanwhile the company does not acknowledge anything, instead they say "It's probably a bad patch. Turn off and turn on the cell phone and reception will kick in."

AT&T GSM has spotty reception at best. Dropped calls, signal strength drops to nothing even while standing in one spot, my voice echos over the other person speaking. I have been a customer of AT&T TDMA for several years and have just switched to their GSM network, this was a Huge mistake. My company cell phones are with Verizon and I have decided go with Verizon Wireless for my personal service. In the Houston area, Verizon is the way to go, their customer support is unmatched and their coverage is more dependable.
