Sprint
No 4G wimax and definitely no 4G LTE. 3G speeds are abysmal, but that's because Sprint has very poor 3G speeds in the first place. Calls and texts usually work fine, though calls will drop occasionally. AT&T suffers from some dropped calls in the area, but the coverage is much better, especially in terms of data coverage and speed. 3G is very usable and there is LTE coverage. I have both providers (don't ask). I can't say anything about Verizon in this area, but AT&T is the clear choice going off what I know.

Got Sprint because I couldn't afford AT&T deposit. Before signing the contract I specifically asked about coverage in my home AND where I work, Gonzales county. They assured me home coverage would be good as I'm just a couple of miles from the tower in Alamo Heights. As for Gonzales county, they said I'm covered there too. Facts: Absolutely no data service in my home. I'm in a 3G area just two blocks from the 4G coverage that surrounds me but still, I have no data coverage. Phone reception, poor to none. Impossible to hold even a two minute conversation. Calls will not come in and outgoing calls drop within a minute. Any important call has to be made away from home. We do not answer important calls either. Sprint sent us a booster free after one rep tried to charge us $250 for it. We hung up and called right back. The next rep said no problem, we'll send that right out free of charge. It doesn't work. In Gonzales, I have minimal reception, park by the gate entrance-one bar, park by the big tree-one bar, turn right here and call drops. Or, no service at all. I use my phone for dispatch at work. At least, I'm supposed to. Instead I have to find another driver with a phone that can call in my status and receive my dispatch, typically, they all use att. Currently, my service is disconnected as I refused to pay 200 a month for no service. Bill is up to 723 now.

The signal is intermittent within my home. Okay in one location, move twenty (20) feet and there is "No network". Nearby three (3) story building just had cellular antennas installed on the roof.

Quite a few disrupted calls. Either bad reception or plain out a drop call. Their system is always "busy" making me re-attempt my call several times. Looking for another provider.

There is no 4g lte coverage, and the 3g is pathetically slow. Thinking of returning the 4g lte and going back to my original phone which is 4g, straight up. What a disappointment and really, outright fraud by Sprint.

Sprint says I'm in the heart of their coverage zone. But for my phone and my wifes low end Samsung phone, we get no reception at our house. I can walk down the stree about 200 yards and I get full 3 and 4g service. Even sadder is that I have Clear as my Internet provider, and it works on a 4g signal (Clear is owned by Sprint) and I get a full 4g signal in the center of my house with no outside walls. My friends with Crickett and Verizon have no issues at my house or any part of my house.

Reception has become almost non-existent the last few days and AT&T says they can't figure it out although there is a degraded tower at NW Military and Wurzbach Pkwy. which they say has nothing to do with dropped calls, people can't hear me, and text messages will not go out

I've been with T-Mobile for over 10years, actually since before they were T-Mobile. I've had great coverage all over most of San Antonio, but tend to lose both my data and phone service when I go out towards the Poteet and Pleasanton areas. My data works most of the time but I'm wondering if they slow down my data at certain times during the day since sometimes it takes a while for a page to load.

We have been having issues with reception for the past 3 months or so all around the NE side of SA. We have 4 phones under Sprint and talked to several reps with Sprint about these issues and they have given us numerous answers. Some said that there was no towers down, some saying that there was a tower down, some saying that they are being upgraded to the LTE... We are so fed up with the dropped calls / echoes / static. The last rep said it might go on til Sept... Altogether we are spending $300 / month for crap service and they will not let us out of our contract! We made a complaint to the BBB. We have been with Sprint for 10 plus years and we are never signing another contract with them.

When I originally, moved to this area, I had Sprint. Soooo many dropped calls. Then moved to Verizon. Service and coverage was excellent, but cost was too high. So, ended up moving to AT&T. Bad idea. Service bad, dropped calls in SA &, especially, when I traveled down to The Valley. So, FINALLY, moved back to Verizon. Even had my company phone changed from AT&T because the dropped calls and poor reception was disrupting doing business. Their prices are actually competitive now. Luckily, I got in when they had unlimited data, so I'm grandfathered and my family of four is on my plan, too. We have great coverage at a good price! After being with Sprint and AT&T before, Verizon is definitely the best coverage I've had.
