AT&T's wireless data service in Austin has been in the sewer since at least 2017. My phone will show 4-5 bars of "service" but web page loads just sit there. Numerous calls to AT&T over the years and multiple phone resets and updates have done nothing to improve this situation. I've been told that the city's tough regulations make it hard to build new cell towers. Then AT&T needs to prioritize maintenance and improvements to their existing towers! It is ridiculous that one of the most tech-heavy cities IN THE WORLD has such pathetically abysmal wireless data service.

Very puzzling I can only use my phone while sitting on one spot on my sofa! Lots of missed calls.

Worked great til a month ago. Now have to go outside the airport to even make a call. Data stops all together as well. Stupid AT&T tried to update my imei # and said it would work better... .it did not... .SMH. in this day and age, this is a bunch of BS !

I've been with ATT for many years (prior to 1990) and ATT used to be the ONLY carrier that worked in our area now ATT's signal has deteriorated to the point that it is unusable without a booster or driving down the road to get a signal

if you live in this area or plan on moving here do not expect data service. just go buy a 20 flip phone to use because the 800.00 smart phones are worthless here!

Verizon

I have had Verizon for 14 years and never had such terrible signal. I just moved over here and have virtually no cellular data and very limited signal to make calls and send SMS messages. Several time before moving here, while driving on Red River I’ve completely lost all signal to my phone. This area is like a black hole for cell signal.

I have had Verizon for years, but my service has become so inconsistent I’m going to have to switch. They claim that I am simply deprioritized at times, but it is so frequent that I am paying to only be able to use my device 50% of the time. I truelly believe that they keep adding users but have not increased their bandwidth and created multiple unlimited tiers last year to make more money while creating a system where they do not have to invest in additional infrastructure

AT&T service is very unreliable in my area - despite being approx. 2 miles as the crow flies from IH-35. I have to use the phone on my second floor balcony (often stretched above my head as high as I can get it) to load anything. I also work in the area, and service even close to the interstate is below average at best. All of this despite AT&T shutting down all cell service in the area (without notification) about 9 months ago all day to “improve their service in the area” - absolutely no improvement. The rest of my family uses T-Mobile and have much much better success.

Absolutely terrible cell service. Not only that they are dishonest. My phone shows '4 bars of LTE' but I can't even open a web browser. This kind of thing is typical for Sprint. They are not even on par with the Cricket / Boost mobile type companies. I've been with them for more than 5 years and the service has only gotten worse.

Both my personal cell (iPhone 7) and business phone Samsung are maybe 1 to 2 bars and dropped calls are frequent. Used to be good reception here but has gotten worse over the past year or so.
