I've been on the ATT / Cingular GSM network since 9 / 04. In the past month (7 / 06), the reception on US 290 between Congress and the Travis / Hays county line has been non-existent. Phone shows 3 to 5 bars; calls receive a "we don't recognize your number on our network, please dial 611 for service" message. At the local Cingular retail store I was offered the option to sign for a new 2-year agreement to be on the Cingular network. The ATT TDMA network is being taken out of service. I need a new phone, SIM card and contract to get service. I'll wait 2 months for my contract to expire, and try the TMobile network. I need GSM for service in UK.Was this review helpful to you?
Poor to NO reception along all of West Gate Blvd. Another dead zone: Shiloh between Manchaca and Seminary Ridge Dr.in southwest Austin. Was this review helpful to you?
Dropped calls and static is the norm. Have never had clear reception inside house, have to move around house to find halfway decent recption. Spot will vary. When traveling we have found that our backup phone (Tracfone Nokia) is not only more relaiable but gets better reception than Cincular. When our commitment with Cingular is over we'er switching! Was this review helpful to you?
Cingular Sucks do not get this service. Reception was much better with ATT. Now I know why there is a Class Action lawsuit filed by former ATT customers. Was this review helpful to you?
I've had Verizon for six years and have gotton great reception all over austin, in south elgin on 969 and in bastrop on 95. I moved just over a year ago to the cedar creek / del valle area on 2430 / 812 and have horrible reception at my house. Have to stand next the windows facing east or stand in the eastern part of my yard. Also get no reception on certain areas of hwy71 in bastrop and in areas of north elgin. I'm dissapointed with the phone replacement plan. I have to pay $5 for insurance every month and every time I need to replace my phone its a $50 deductable. The past three years I've had a share plan with two phones, they are the primary phones, we talk when we want however much we want and it cost between $94-$97 a month. Was this review helpful to you?
ALways drop calls at the house. I am dropping Cingular..It's the worst. Was this review helpful to you?
The reception is horrible at my place. I have to walk down to the street to make a call. My new strategy is to call someone back, after getting a conneciton with bad reception. The bars on my phone are like a rollercoaster. Was this review helpful to you?
I have had Cingular in Austin for 1.5 years and loved it! In the last 5 days, my reception is horrible. 5 bars go to 0 bars for no apparent reason. I am not even moving! Home reception went from great to sketchy. What is going on with Cingular over the past week? Was this review helpful to you?
Absolutely horrendous. I can be talking to someone while laying down, not moving at all, and reception goes from fine to nothing. I drop every call I make from my apartment, IF i'm allowed to make the call to begin with (half of the time I can't even connect). I live five minutes from downtown, and this is totally unacceptable. While typing this I received a call that was dropped within the first twenty seconds. I answered the phone, someone speaks for a little, and then nothing! While I lived in Los Angeles Cingular was great, but ever since they merged with AT&T it's been a nightmare. I'm cancelling my service tomorrow and will find another, ANY other service. Was this review helpful to you?
It doesn't work at all in my office building downtown, which is real convenient. It doesn't work at all at home in Westlake which is real convenient. It works in 30 second intervals between work and home which is real convenient because pretty much every call is going to get dropped. Cingular = terrible service in Austin. Was this review helpful to you?
