AT&T

1 bar at all times but that one bar is not enough to even make a phone call.

No reception, missed or dropped calls, one bar showing at all times

I barely get 1 stall consistently in this area for AT&T, I need to drive to Manor in order to make a call that seems to be the closest tower. Unexceptable

I have experienced bad call reception / cutting in and out, dropped calls for many years now with Cricket. This was same sim card but on 4 different brands of android smart phones. I'm about to change to Verizon but am not enthused after reading some reviews here. Usually, to have a decent phone conversation I have to drive my car up the block to the Lamar Middle School parking lot. I'm so frustrated, I'm also considering paying for a separate land line again. Amazingly, it's more than halfway through 2021 and consumers are still having to deal with this crap.

T-Mobile has excellent service in this area, but if you head to the burbs, or the country, the coverage is unpredictable and spotty. For example, it barely works in Round Rock, Pfluegerville, or even outside of town in Fredericksburg. Yet, the T-Mobile map shows solid service: Very deceptive! Hill Country (west of Austin) is best suited for AT&T, but the best coverage outside of that is Verizon— esp in San Antonio, Houston, El Paso, West Texas, or Dallas. Verizon has made their plans more valuable, so I may switch back. The pink kool aid doesn’t work in rural areas despite their map promises.

I don’t have dropped calls, but data is clunky. Tried T-Mobile and it seems no better, maybe a little worse.

AT&T's wireless data service in Austin has been in the sewer since at least 2017. My phone will show 4-5 bars of "service" but web page loads just sit there. Numerous calls to AT&T over the years and multiple phone resets and updates have done nothing to improve this situation. I've been told that the city's tough regulations make it hard to build new cell towers. Then AT&T needs to prioritize maintenance and improvements to their existing towers! It is ridiculous that one of the most tech-heavy cities IN THE WORLD has such pathetically abysmal wireless data service.

Very puzzling I can only use my phone while sitting on one spot on my sofa! Lots of missed calls.

I have had Verizon for 14 years and never had such terrible signal. I just moved over here and have virtually no cellular data and very limited signal to make calls and send SMS messages. Several time before moving here, while driving on Red River I’ve completely lost all signal to my phone. This area is like a black hole for cell signal.

I have had Verizon for years, but my service has become so inconsistent I’m going to have to switch. They claim that I am simply deprioritized at times, but it is so frequent that I am paying to only be able to use my device 50% of the time. I truelly believe that they keep adding users but have not increased their bandwidth and created multiple unlimited tiers last year to make more money while creating a system where they do not have to invest in additional infrastructure
