Those people are on fire, for $35 or $45 I get to call anywhere anytime. Since they started providing service in austin and san antonio in august of 2006, the whole neighborhood is going Cricket. GO CRICKET.Was this review helpful to you?
Cingular signal in Hyde Park area is poor to unusable. Usually one or two bars, but often "No Service." Same problem in the vicinity of Far West and Mesa. Yes, my phone is old technology; however, my next door neighbor has latest technology Cingular service and equipment but suffers the same problems with weak or no signal. Stinks! Regardless, I can't imagine life without it these days, even if it is Cingular. Communication by cell phone is still a comparatively new innovation. It'll get better... the sooner the better! Was this review helpful to you?
Always poor reception, and constant dropped calls. It is strictly the coverage no the phone or the cell company. Was this review helpful to you?
Absolutely Pathetic - Signal strength 'indicator' seems to follow billboards much better than calls. Cingular's the only carrier I've ever had to routinely drop calls with '5 bars' of signal strength. My guess is that their marketing department has a much better stranglehold on their 'bars' than their towers. Was this review helpful to you?
The sound isn't terribly clear, sometimes it helps to step outside the house. I can actually walk or ride my bike around the entire neighborhood and yak on the phone for an hour or so and the call doesn't drop, tho I may have to backtrack to improve reception. I get decent reception on calls around my office downtown near the Capitol also. Still, I'm thinking of trying Verizon to see if I can get better clarity, or maybe someone can recommend a better phone. Clarity is particularly a problem with voicemail, sometimes I really can't hear parts of the messages. As a side note, Suncom (an AT&T subsidiary) and AT&T were great back in the day, once Cingular bought AT&T that was the end of that. Was this review helpful to you?
Reception sucks in this area inside buildings. Better outside. Was this review helpful to you?
I am so frustrated, because 9 times out of 10 I cannot dial out on my phone when calling from home. When driving in Austin it's spotty just about everywhere. But where I need it most is at home and the service is so lousy and all I get is a recording saying my call cannot be connected at this time. Well what am I going to do if there's an emergency?! I pay lots of money to Cingular each month and for what?! This is such a rip off and it sucks that I'm locked into a contract with them for a service that doesn't work. Was this review helpful to you?
Had ATT&T and it was the BEST. When they merged with Cingular the quality of cell coverage was absolutely horrible! Switched to T-Mobile. Theirs isn't much better. I can stand in the same spot and watch my reception go from full to non-existant... dropping the call then full reception comes back... .all without ever moving! This happens in several spots around town. Contract is over in 2 months! Thinking Sprint or Verizon at that point. Was this review helpful to you?

I'm on the old ATT TDMA Network. I get reasonable reception most of the time. UNFORTUNATELY, I am told that Cingular is dismantling this networkWas this review helpful to you?
