Receiption was about perfect for 3 years but now going downhill. Company has done something but, like other big companies, is keeping it hush-hush. Am looking at other carriers now as I only care about receiption.Was this review helpful to you?
I have full bars on AT&T w 3g coverage... I'm able to make / receive calls and regular txt fine, but I get NO data, cant get safari to connect, cant send / receive pic txt or other data.Was this review helpful to you?
We live in Sandy Creek Ranches area, about halfway between Jonestown and Liberty Hill. We are in one of many DEAD zones in the area, with zero signal. A very accident prone section of Nameless Road, about 1 mile long, is a DEAD zone. When we inquire or complain to Verizon Wireless, they tell us "It's in an area our network doesn't reach and there's nothing we can do about it." Translation: Verizon Wireless is either incapable or unwilling to provide service. But they are perfectly happy to take our money every month.Was this review helpful to you?

I have had my Sprint service and brick cell phone (ok, I'm a Luddite) for over a decade and had excellent reception inside and outside the house (hardly ever fewer than 3 bars). For about a month or more now, I see no bars at all either inside or outside. If a call comes / goes through, it is dropped soon enough and cell phone is frequently beeping, looking for service. Reception In my House before wasting money on a 3g microcell was 0-2 bars. The Good news with a 250.00 microcell is I have 4 bars. The bad news is I now have 5 bars and I have random working coverage. I get network Busy incoming calls go to dead air. After Spending 3 hours calling ATT every time my phone was not working today I learned something. THe micro Cell needs the GPS to locate its self and connect to the nearest ATT cell tower. Well this is great becuase if the tower is why I had to buy the microcell It wont do me a lot of good. We also get poor sound quality when using the microcell from more than 20 feet. Garbled Voice. One ATT rep advised me to turn off three g on the I phone 4s. I had to explain to her if we did that then we would be disconected from the Microcell and have 0 bars. That I guess would resolve the poor sound Quality, since we could not make calls. If you live in NW austin When I talked to Verizon today they offered to loan us a Phone to test their network. They have confidence in their network not lip service. AT&T should remove all messages on their attendent about their wonderfull network.Was this review helpful to you?
SPRINT works EXCELLENT for me in the Scofield Ridge Subdivision of Austin, and everywhere in North and Northwest Austin. I had AT&T but canceled after years with them, due to constant dropped calls and other technical issues. I've had Sprint now since 1 / 2011 and have had only 1 dropped call since. Sprint has added more towers for cellular, and are now utilizing their NEXTEL towers as well for cellular service I'm told. OVERALL: EXCELLENT SERVICEWas this review helpful to you?
My contract is finally up in Aug and I can't wait to switch. Between the phone and the lack of service I might as well be using homing pigeons for communication. I can't believe that AT&T has the nerve to charge what they do for 1980's cell coverage in the Austin area. If you want to be an isolationist then get the AT&T service because you won't ever be able to talk to anyone.Was this review helpful to you?
We recently moved to our new house on yaupon and texas plume. The reception is virtually non-existent. I have been using ATT for several years now and this is the first time I am having issues with their service. Very rarely the call gets connected and within a few seconds, the call is dropped and the phone shows 0 bars. I am almost certain we will switch to a different carrier in a few weeks.Was this review helpful to you?
