For the past two weeks, my phone has dropped 6-10 calls a day. Most of the time I get "System Busy." What is that? NEXTEL is know for it's more than fair share of dead spots, but anywhere and everywhere is a dead spot lately. Not sure who I will change over to after 7 years. Sounds like everyone's service sucks. Was this review helpful to you?

Looking for a carrier that works in the area of Edgewater off Cuernavaca / Mecca. My Verizon works if I'm not at home, but I am at my home most of the time. Verizon has always been great for me, but I can't get or make calls if I'm home (live and work here). Had really hoped to dump all but the most basic land line but now I have to have all the phone co's. bells and whistles because cell doesn't work at home. Any providers work here in this gulch? Was this review helpful to you?
Have old Nokia 5165 with Cingular and as long as you're in "the city" and in civilized parts, reception ok. But (understandably) have a lot of problems calling while on the road in Liberty Hill TExas on hiway 29 back to customers between cedar park and Jonestown. When I call from Burnet texas back to home base in cedar park, reception is very spotty and almost non-existent but depends on weather, better when wind not blowing and how near you are to a cell-phone tower. Was this review helpful to you?
I seem to have no problems in and around Awstin or wherever else I go with my V220. But I'd never use one of htese as primary communication device. That's what SBC is for. (Same for VoIP, secondary use only). Generally, I do have areas where the Cingular service is encountering high BER, but then move five inches and it's better. The analog phones worked much better, but their battery life was awful. Trade offs. I also carry a Blackberry on T-Mobile. Audio quality is better, coverage is similar, but in places where one does not work, the other one might. For what they are, and what they cost, considering the facilities limits of practicality, they are all pretty ok. But I think that if you ask any one of their network engineers, they'll say that these systems were never intended to replace landlines, and not really engineered for hand held devices. I do know that their marketing people will spew a different set of facts (usual marketing lies)Was this review helpful to you?

AT&T Wireless (GSM)
TDMA works, GSM doesn't... I've tried the store GSM phones (before buying one) in this area for 2years now, every 6-9 months or so.. and still no GSM service. T-Mobile doesn't work in this area either. ATnT (cingular) TDMA and Sprint, however, do.Was this review helpful to you?
AT&T Wireless (GSM)
GSM Service from ATnT barely works, often cutting out voice.. TDMA is actually not that bad (3+ bars)Was this review helpful to you?
