AT&T

Number of bars can vary greatly inside my house. I often have 1-2 bars inside the house, yet calls get dropped, so I often go outside on my patio to complete long calls.

T Mobile had next to no reception during ACL. Most of their competitors brought in mobile cell tower trucks to park at Barton Springs, but they didn't. I live nearby and it took ten tries on average to make calls and 10-30 to send text messages. I have now dropped them for Cricket. Unlimited minutes! Everyone should offer that. I had it for two years in Boulder and loved it. I put 4000 hours on a Nokia, rarely a dropped call. $30 a month now for unlimited text and daytime minutes.

There has been a dead spot in the 5300 block of Fort Benton Dr.for years. I wish AT&T would fix it. Indoors, you get no reception.

I have owned 3 Nokia cell phones and every single one works perfectly in my house. I dont find much of a problem with At&T

Sucks... .which is why I still have a landline in the house. Dropped calls, little to no signal. Seems provider "downgrades" service for older phones to induce you to buy a new handset - anyone know about this?

Abysmal. When I'm at home and my phone's in my pants, forget about it. When it's sitting on the coffee table, I will still commonly have calls dropped altogether. Like another poster mentioned, I can stand in one spot and watch my reception go from 5 bars to none, within a few seconds. Sometimes I'll place a call, even when I have decent reception, and the call will just cut out as soon as I make it, with no warning or error message or anything; I just look down at the phone and it's at the menu screen. This is probably partially a problem with the phone software, but I think it has more to do with the awful network. Also have absolutely zero reception within my office at 78723 (NE Austin). Unfortunately I've got another year and a half left on this contract... . but fortunately I'll be in DC for most of it, where reception is okay.

My phone always has 5 bars but that means NOTHING! When I am trying to listen, every other sentence is too garbled to understand (incoming) so I always have to say "say it again" or "no clue what you just said". VERY VERY VERY frustrating. Not too many dropped calls though; only about 1 in 6. (but then again sometimes I can't make the call in the first place) Cingular claimed the phone was bluetooth too... its not... it just has the ability to use about 1 out of 8 headsets... LAME

To get two bars of reception at home, I must go outside and face due South, or go upstairs to the Southeast corner of my son's bedroom. Otherwise, I get no reception. Glad to hear my home is not the only black hole in our area.

There are only a couple of spots inside the house where the phone will work... upstairs only. Even so, calls will occasionally get dropped. The worst is when someone calls me, I have to run upstairs with the phone before I answer. Forget camera phones and all that other crap... just make a phone that works for its intended purpose!
