T-Mobile
The signal was always terrible since I moved to Austin. I can't even load a video on You Tube. This is my last month with this company.

The good: Voice talk and text was good. Voice talk wasn't perfect, but good enough..better than Tmobile. The bad: Weak signal for data. At work, I missed a video conference because my signal was to weak. I didn't have this issue with Tmobile(my previous provider) at the exact same location. Retail stores are horrible- I went to the North Lamar Verizon store location and the service was horrible. In addition, the store was run down and only had a few phones on display. T-Mobile beats the retail by far. For the $50.00 difference in cost on montly bills, I switched back to Tmobile. T-Mobile has a lesser talk quality, but as far as everything else goes T-Mobile is just as good and significantly less expensive.

I am in house and ideal location (open location no big buildings not many trees, neighborhood with spread out small wooden houses, central city location) 4G reception. I am getting one bar to two bars most of the time. Am new here and have not tested GPS but I doubt it is going to be useful and am on this website today looking at different carriers. Am really disappointed to see what poor coverage all the carriers are giving in a progressive city, like Austin. Sounds like Austinites ought to stand up and force the issue.

Get junk service in my apartment with an extender. Constant dropped calls or the calls just don't come through. If it weren't for wifi my phone would be useless at home. It is SO frustrating! I don't know that anything would work better. We got amazing service in Houston, what's the deal Verizon?!?

I live around Austin area my reception sucks! We need more towers on the area we're paying to much for less that's not fair for the price and insurance that doesn't cover anything... im ready for my contract to be over. I heard great things about t-mobile.

The reception at my house is great. It is non-existent on Lake Travis, excrpt maybe in the middle of the lake.

Essentially no coverage indoors and very iffy outdoors. Nearly all calls dropped. Texts often fail. Callers can't leave vmail.

SPRINT IS CRAP- I use my phone for business and keep hanging up on clients daily which makes me loose sales and seems unprofessional. I'm dropping 50% of my calls which is bs and you can't tell me that Sprint is not aware of it or this site-will be switching to someone else after research.

I was under the impression, that when I bought my iPhone 5 I could occasionally use it. I now have a very expensive paper weight and a means of raising my blood pressure instantly. The service is worse than I've experienced with any other carrier ever, and I will be switching soon. I honestly don't see how Sprint is even a major phone company with this kind of coverage. I'd say 1 / 5 calls go through, and those aren't always audible. Seriously seriously disappointed.

I've had T-Mobile for about 5 years now and I haven't had many issues with reception while in Austin. Only when traveling out of Travis County I have lower signal and speeds dropped to 2G. While using my Nexus 5 and on LTE I get download speeds anywhere between 20-35mbps. So far the best speed of 38 down / 15up was in the Anderson Mill / 620 area. I'm very satisfied with the service especially for the price I'm paying.
