0 Out of 5 T-Mobile

Equestrian Trail, Austin, TX 78727

T-Mobile has spotty, if at best the worse coverage on Equestrian Trail (78727) and in the area. Dropped calls are constant.

4 Out of 5 Verizon

Parmer | MoPac, Austin, TX 78727

I get great phone and internet coverage with Verizon. I work at a hospital and that is the only time I have ever had any problems with internet (super slow or doesn't work at all). I assume it is because of the building.

2 Out of 5 Verizon

Parmer at McNeil, Austin, TX 78729

Poor reception- only two bars most of the time. Also, phone goes into roaming occasionally and consumes all of the battery strength. I also have dropped calls zone around the University.

1 Out of 5 Verizon

Metric and Parmer, Austin, TX 78727

Nearly 0 LTE coverage inside the house and out, it happens very randomly and for only a few minutes at a time. While on 3G it usually hovers around -90 dBm (1-2 bars) inside and outside. Poor coverage in this area.

1 Out of 5 Sprint

Oak Knoll | Fire Oak, Austin, TX 78759

Since about Nov 2011, I have 0 or 1 bars on my cell phone inside or outside my house in the Oak Forest Neighborhood. I had excellent reception a few years ago. It is not my phone. The phone shows full strength / excellent reception while driving north on Hwy. 183 from the Arboretum area. Once you take the Oak Knoll exit and start driving west on Oak Knoll, the signals suddenly drop to 0 or 1 bars. Complaining to Sprint repeatedly has had no effect as they claim to have no problem with the towers in the area! The Customer Service is not at the site of the problem. How can they claim there is no problem without actually testing out the reception in the problem area?

1 Out of 5 AT&T

Malaga, Hart Ln. | North Hills, Austin, TX 78731

AT&T service inside my condo has plummeted in the last month or so. Not that it was really great before, but it was at least acceptable. Now I can rarely have a phone conversation that lasts over 30 seconds. I see "call failed" too many times to count... outgoing calls are often dropped before it even rings on the other side, and incoming calls often go to voicemail and do not show up as an incoming call. (However, the callers tell me that they heard several rings before voicemail picked up, so it the call didn't go straight to voicemail. While stationary, my phone will frequently bounce from 0 bars to 1 bar, to "Searching... " to "No Service", back to 1 bar, then 2 bars, then back to 0 bars (in less than a minute). AT&T technical support told me that one tower was down, but that really shouldn't have any effect on my service, especially since I've been having problems for over a month and the tower just went down "today." He also attributed it to the increase in users. He suggested that I purchase a microcell tower for $199. Seriously? I would be fighting to get out of my contract if it wasn't up in about a month. I really hope I can get better service from another carrier.

Sprint coverage is 2 out of 5 in this area. Very spotty coverage. My T-Mobile phone though works perfect in this area, no issues.

Receiption was about perfect for 3 years but now going downhill. Company has done something but, like other big companies, is keeping it hush-hush. Am looking at other carriers now as I only care about receiption.

0 Out of 5 Sprint

Oak Knoll Dr. | Danwood, Austin, TX 78759

I have had my Sprint service and brick cell phone (ok, I'm a Luddite) for over a decade and had excellent reception inside and outside the house (hardly ever fewer than 3 bars). For about a month or more now, I see no bars at all either inside or outside. If a call comes / goes through, it is dropped soon enough and cell phone is frequently beeping, looking for service. What is going on?

What happened to my Sprint reception today? (10 / 25 / 2011). I have always reveived perfect reception and today it is changing to 0 bars or 1 bar... I have had Sprint for 15 years and have always found them to provide the best coverage all over Texas as well as the US... what's going on?

5 Out of 5 Sprint

Scofield Ridge Pkwy. | Winwick Way, Austin, TX 78727

SPRINT works EXCELLENT for me in the Scofield Ridge Subdivision of Austin, and everywhere in North and Northwest Austin. I had AT&T but canceled after years with them, due to constant dropped calls and other technical issues. I've had Sprint now since 1 / 2011 and have had only 1 dropped call since. Sprint has added more towers for cellular, and are now utilizing their NEXTEL towers as well for cellular service I'm told. OVERALL: EXCELLENT SERVICE

1 Out of 5 AT&T

183 and McNeil, Austin, TX 78729

My contract is finally up in Aug and I can't wait to switch. Between the phone and the lack of service I might as well be using homing pigeons for communication. I can't believe that AT&T has the nerve to charge what they do for 1980's cell coverage in the Austin area. If you want to be an isolationist then get the AT&T service because you won't ever be able to talk to anyone.

0 Out of 5 AT&T

Yaupon Dr. | Texas Plume Rd., Austin, TX 78759

We recently moved to our new house on yaupon and texas plume. The reception is virtually non-existent. I have been using ATT for several years now and this is the first time I am having issues with their service. Very rarely the call gets connected and within a few seconds, the call is dropped and the phone shows 0 bars. I am almost certain we will switch to a different carrier in a few weeks.

2 Out of 5 Sprint

Spicewood Springs | Scotland Wells, Austin, TX 78759

While I've had all kinds of problems with Sprint's trying to sell me 4G laptop connectivity and not delivering (went thru 2 devices, 3 major American cities, no luck) and Sprint's having sold me a very poor phone (HTC Hero - absolute piece of garbage), until now I had no complaints about their coverage. Just moved to the northwest hills of Austin and the calls drift in and out and drop regularly in my new house. Three strikes Sprint, you're out. I'm going to find another carrier after *12* years!

Fireoak Dr. | Barrington Way, Austin, TX 78759

Hopeless service inside my home - I can't successfully make or answer a call indoors. Callers report hearing the ringing stopping, then nothing after I hit the green button to receive the call. Unreliable while standing in my back yard. Calls get dropped every 5-10 minutes, words get dropped every minute. I get notified of voicemail when the phone never rang and AT&T reports no missed calls. For important calls I have to get in my car and drive a mile away. I'm very disappointed in AT&T.

Sprint claims that this is in one of there best coverage zones, but I can't even send and receive phone calls or text messages. At best you can only hear evey other word and expect the call to be dropped every few seconds.

1 Out of 5 Sprint

High Way 71, Austin, TX 78760

Unable to receive texts from AT&T on the Sprint network after update from Sprint. Called Sprint service and Sprint said they had no means to test or diagnose the problem and attempted to blame their interoperability on AT&T although it was due to a Sprint update. They had no idea what was wrong and were unable to diagnose the problem. Completely incompetent. Canceled contract due to poor service and incompetence. Suggest Sprint users to cancel Sprint, rebel against contracts and excessive charges by providers.

Sprint is solid. Better than my girls t mobile and my brothers AT&T by along shot... even in remote areas I still get great coverage. Also in the last few years their customer service is actually good doing a 180 there. They're cheap too, and they have a couple of real nice phones.

5 Out of 5 Sprint

Scofield Pkwy. | Mopac Expressway, Austin, TX 78727

I'm using Boost Mobile (Sprint subsidiary) Blackberry 8330. No dropped calls, great network reliability and such a major improvement from having been with AT&T for 6 years. Service Coverage I've noticed is excellent in the Scofield Ridge Subdivision. I've also traveled all over Pflugerville, Round Rock and NW Austin and haven't had one dropped call yet in now 9 months. People - check out Boost Mobile, its $60.00 a month for UNLIMITED EVERYTHING, plus $4.95 taxes ($64.95). Just a good value and good network here in the Austin / Central Texas area.

1 Out of 5 AT&T

Scofield Ridge Pkwy., Austin, TX 78727

AT&T continues to provide terrible service throughout the NW area of Austin. 1 out of every 3 phone calls received and placed gets dropped, or I receive a message which states 'call congestion', 'dropped call' or a fast busy-signal when I try to dial out. AT&T for the past 12 months says they're fixing their network -bull. I'm going back to Sprint whereby I didnt have all these issues. AT&T needs to begin paying their Customers to get their service as AT&T stinks.

Spicewood Springs | Yaupon, Austin, TX 78759

Really bad service from ATT. Plenty of dropped calls or calls that did not ring the phone. After I told their customer service rep that the only way I could use the phone was to stand in the middle of my back yard, she actually said "then you have service". Amazing. Funny part is that the phone, and previous iPhone, worked fine for 18 months. Then 6 months ago it all went down. New phone didn't help.

1 Out of 5 Sprint

Great Hills Trail | Agate Cove, Austin, TX 78759

I was excited to get out of the South Austin / Manchaca dead zone for Sprint but it turns out I have better reception even there. Sprint's coverage map notes "best" reception where I live and it's not true at all. I'm tired of the cutting in and out and the dropped calls and I've only lived here 2 days. What's the deal, Sprint? Been with you for almost 7 years and have liked your deals and phones, but please do something about your coverage area. If you can't do that, do something about your coverage area maps so we are not duped into thinking it'll be the "best."
