Sprint

I have had no service since Thursday the 17th, 2012. Supposedly towers down in the area are down and being worked on. Honestly, I've never had any problems with Sprint which has been my cell phone provider since 2002 / 3. Because of this issues alone, I have thought seriously about changing providers when my contract is up. I may change now and just pay the fee for leaving before the contract is up. I have been inconvenienced and my Mother has been inconvenienced because I have to use her cell phone which happens to be Verizon which has wonderful reception. All bars and very long battery life. It's ridiculous that we still have to pay. I do expect compensation for no use of my phone. I probably won't get it.

Up until about a month ago, I was getting good 3G speeds. Now I rarely get more than 1mbps and alot of connection issues. Anyone else in El Paso experiencing T-Mobile signal issues?

I'm only able to maintain a 2G signal when I have a 4G phone. So my data speeds are very slow and I often drop calls.

I have had ATT for at least 4-5 years and I have UVerse and the Wireless plans. The wireless is awful, I have to call from my home at least 2-3 times before the call goes through. Att's answer was to get a land like and charge me $55. The also suggested a Cell phone booster that cost $100 and said I would get a $50 rebate, which I did not. I am trying to find a wireless service that will work both in EP and Ruidoso.

I've had AT&T for a little less than a year and I have had no major problems. There are very few spots where I have trouble using my phone but I rarely go to those areas so it isn't much of a problem. overall I would say AT&T is very good in El Paso and would recommend it for most people.

I've had AT&T for a couple of months now and I have to say that I am overall very pleased with the service. I came from Verizon after 3 years with them. Verizon was literally perfection. Their 3G speeds were good and everywhere I went, rural or major city, the coverage was unbeatable. My family and I frequently go camping. We go to very rural parts of New Mexico and we always had excellent Verizon coverage. I have not had the opportunity to travel to these places with AT&T but according to their coverage map, those places are under "partner" This shouldn't be a problem since we do not use our phones that much when we are in those areas in the first place. I, myself, do not use data very much. My aunt and uncle have iPhone 4's and are constantly using data. They are flight attendants and travel all over the U.S. everyday. From their experiences, AT&T has been equal to Verizon. Occasionally they travel to areas where 3G is not available and must rely on EDGE. For the most part they remain in areas covered by 3G and say that it is slightly faster than Verizon. At their home which is known to be a huge dead zone for ALL carriers, they receive 1-2 bars. They claim to have no difficulties in making calls and say that the 3G speeds are fine. At my home I receive 3-4 bars. Calls sound fine and when I use the data it is speedy. I do, however, have one area where I have trouble with my service. I go to Cathedral High School. This school is in a very old building (88 years old) where the walls are 3 feet thick. On the second floor, my AT&T phone has 0-1 bar and very frequently will switch to Movistar or TELCEL (Mexican service providers) I have borrowed students phones and they seem to have similar signals, except Verizon. T-Mobile has 1-2 bars, Sprint has 0 bars, and Verizon has 5 bars. In conclusion, AT&T has been very good. We are paying $200 less for similar service that Verizon provides. Anyone looking into switching to AT&T in El Paso, TX should go with either Verizon or at&t. Of course, depending where you live is a major factor in El Paso. Anyone living near the mountain WILL have problems with their service. All carriers do not cover the area near the mountains very well and you will absolutely have problems with your phone. The only company that may not have as many problems will be Verizon. If you live anywhere else in El Paso you are covered pretty well.

I recently switched to AT&T after being with Verizon for 4 years. In El Paso, both AT&T and Verizon's network is quite good. For the most part, Verizon gets a full signal (outdoors, as well as many places indoors) Of course with every carrier there is a few spots where the service isn't so great, but hey, you can't always win. At my home, Verizon receives an average of 4-5 bars and always clear calls. With AT&T I receive 3-4 bars and calls are clear as well. In addition to Verizon and AT&T my brother has T-Mobile and my mom has Sprint. So I have a pretty much can test every major carrier. At my house, Sprint has 1-3 bars with adequate sound quality and T-Mobile always has 5 but I have noticed that at time sound quality is very bad. Now I have experience my AT&T phone switching over to Mexican service (Movistar, TELCEL) This mostly happens at my school which is very close to the Mexican border. Oddly, this has happened to my Verizon phone as well. I have not yet traveled enough to give my opinion on AT&T, but from what I can see if El Paso, AT&T is just as good as Verizon. I have had no dropped calls, no "No Service" areas. There have been areas of low signal but that has not affected call quality or reliability. In conclusion I give AT&T a 4.5 and I give Verizon a 4.5
