constant dropped calls... verizon says it's because they have too many towers in this vicinity and the phones get confused... brb, I just saw another turnip truck to fall off.

I live in Lowry and have the worst reception. Orig with AT&T GSM it was marginal at best and then when about two months ago it seems the Cingular switch happened. It went to worst case. Phone will not work consistently in and around house and will drop the call if you talk longer than 30 seconds if you can even understand the conversation. I will have to get VoIP if I plan to actually do any work from my home office. Also confirmed is that if you drive east on Alameda, once you past Quebec you will lose service, thats something you can guarantee will happen.

In this part of Denver, compared to AT&T / Cingular GSM, T-Mobile GSM seems better. I get about 50% reception in the basement and more upstairs.

Replaced Nokia 6820 with Audiovox SMT5600 on AT&T / Cingular GSM. Get either 0 or 1 bars in basement (out of 5), while Nokia 6820 gets at at least 3 (out of more bars). The phone can't receive the incoming call, so I may have to go back to a Nokia. Too bad because the Audiovox is a nice Smartphone.

Good reception at home with the new phone (Motorola v265). Previous phone (Startac 7868W) would only produce 2-3 bars, so the phone does make a difference. Service in an approximately 5 mile radius varies from 2 bars to 5 bars. Calls sometimes a little choppy with 2 bars, but never have totally dropped a call in the area.

AT&T / Cingular service is very poor in east Aurora. I would not buy a phone from them until they can fix this problem.

2-3 bars at best. Calls drop sometimes over about 70 feet south of the corner of Alameda and Quebec by the cemetery. I live just south of Bayaud on Syracuse and my reception disappears in my garage, my kitchen, and sometimes in my loft - I suspect the tower is resetting pretty often. I know of all the carriers that Nextel seems to be the only carrier that gets decent reception - they have a Nextel store over here on campus over at Town Center, and they own a lot of towers over off of Leetsdale and Monaco by the bowling alley. (A Denver PD communications supervisor says it sucks because their 800MHz radios go dead when they get a lot of Nextel calls in the neighborhood - Nextel uses the low 800MHz frequencies which are different than most everyone else which are about 850 MHz or higher.) I have had people tell me that Cingular gets next to nothing, Sprint PCS gets at best 'anywhere from the 'martini glass' to 3 bars', and T-Mobile gets 'nothing' from a customer who works over at the credit union. I have a cellularly monitored security system from ADT and my poor installer had to go two stories up into my attic in my townhome to get, at best, 84% signal strength. I suspect its a CDMA system, but don't quote me. I have been told by old AT&T customers, with old TDMA handsets, that they didn't have dropped calls over at the nasty drop out spot at Ala. and Quebec, but haven't any idea. (I still think they'd do well to do a 'fake tree' tower, a la Monument Hill, over at the cemetery - give the people buying plots over near it a cut on the real estate - and think of how much money they'd make! - Or why isn't Covad putting in some antennas on top of their building? Zoning? After all, their newest product focus is wi-fi mesh... ya'd think?!?) I used to get up to 5 bars in my old place over off of Bayaud and Fairmount, which dropped to at best 3 in the past 2 years. What happened? Grrrr... we finally got Vonage for the house and use it at home - saves minutes and occasional frustration - at least our Verizon phones work great when we go fishing in Granby... go figure)

Calls drop constantly. I go from full bars down to nothing in a matter of seconds. I rarely have a call that doesn't drop. Other services appear to work fine. Why Sprint is so poor here, I have no idea. I lived 3 blocks from this location a few years ago and didn't have any problems with Sprint. Calls to Sprint in attempt to resolve this issue have gotten me nowhere. At least I can call *2, say "dropped call" and be credited $.50 / dropped call.

Qwest used to be great in my home, but since the merger with the Sprint network, I no longer get a good signal at home. I am.5 miles from the nearest cell tower. God, I hate Qwest. Please tell me a good carrier. I only hear bad things here.
