Verizon
No reception from my home. Dr.a mile, 4 bars. Does no good to have their service if only good when gone. I was told Verizon was merging and all towers in this area would be theirs, but we all know that was a lie now that AT&T took over the others. Verizon air card is wasted money, no computer signal. They want you to purchase a $300 booster to TRY and make it better, but they have 0 guarantee and will not refund if it doesn't. What a lovely way to run a business. Soon as the contract is up, they are out.

Verizon really sucks in most of Wyoming. I have an air card for my computer and a cell phone through Verizon and work along the I-80 corridor. I try to conduct business by cell phone and computer and get dropped service on both. I have talked to other Verizon customers in the area and they are all fed up. If putting up additional towers is a population issue as I have heard then Interstate 80 should be considered as part of the population of southern Wyoming. There has to be thousands of dropped calls monthly by trucking companies, oil and gas co. employees and business men / women that use I-80. "Come on Verizon how about some customer service"!

Hey Verizon Can you hear me now? Guess they didn't think to test that in Wyoming :( Reception has gotten better but there still are many spots where you will lose your call even in Casper.

alltel (ex cell One) has been improving service all the time. cant wait to see what effect the Verizon buyout will be

No reception with Virgin Mobile from Rock Springs on I-80 to Rawlins. None from Rawlins to Casper on SR 789 and 220. None from Casper to Cheyenne on I-26. Virgin Mobile uses the Sprint system so I suspect their phones would not work either. A motel deskclerk in Rawlins confirmed that there was no Sprint service in that part of Wyoming. Good service in Cheyenne which is only 10 miles from the state line (must get service from towers in Colorado). Cheyenne was the only city in Wyoming where we found service. But the people in Wyoming are real friendly.

On a recent business trip to Larimie I was disturbed by how bad cell phone coverage is in Wyoming. Although my cell phone worked most of the time with reduced signal strength, the AT&T air card in my lap top was virtually useless. I had a great deal of difficulty sending and receiving my Emails. There is a good possibility that I will be relocating to Casper WY. and after reading that all the carriers have crap service in Wyoming I am wondering how a person can chose a service when in fact none of them perform as well as they should. With the huge energy revenues in that state and all the industries that support it I would hope that one of these cell companies would pull their head out and get some acceptable service state wide. I get better service when I travel to Alaska. I guess these cell carrier executives don't look at this website but they need to because the billions of dollars they charge the public for such an overall low level of quality nation wide is nothing short of criminal.

I got a signal but kept getting message that "The feature you have selected / ordered is unavailable or already selected," or something with nearly those words. A week of calls to Alltel's customer service people provided no help. I was apparently connecting to a Union Wireless tower and in principle that should allow me to call and recieve calls. But it did not work. They put in a report of some sort for their techs to work on, but discontinued working on it because I had left the area - which I had - to call them and report the problem after which I drove back. Last year, when I was a Cellular One customer before Alltel bought them and my account, this same phone worked fine in this area.

No reception whatever at any elevation. Really bad area to have an accident or break down.

Need tri-mode phone for best reception in most areas, but Verizon did away with the roaming on the America's Choice so any plan after 02 / 21 / 05 and you have a lesser coverage area then one prior to that. Phones can go into roaming in your own network, or just when the phone is sitting there doing nothing.
