T-Mobile
T-Mo has come a long way in Sheridan in the last few years. 5G service in the 100s of mbps. 5G Home internet even available in some of the higher elevation areas outside of town. It's not perfect, especially if you are in town and live / work in a basement, but otherwise, it's developed quite a lot. Can recommend it here without reservation -- finally! They seem to have a roaming agreement with AT&T so if you don't have signal, you might still be in luck with AT&T LTE.

Living in Big Horn for 5 years now with Verizon and have spent many weeks at a time with little to no service.

TMO has sub-6 "5G" in Sheridan, and service / coverage has improved dramatically over the past couple years. The LTE and 5G are best in the northern parts of the city, and at higher elevations. Weaker LTE exists in low-lying areas which is unfortunately most of the down town. 3G is offloaded to Union's towers, which seem to take hold of your phone and never let go, so you stay in 3G / H+ when there's great LTE or 5G signal to be had. Set your mobile network to T-Mobile and you'll stay off this 3G curse. Check my mapping on nPerf.

Verizon service is most of time 1xRTT with bumps of 3G and 4G service. Data almost non-existent. Texting functional but extremely slow, voice iffy. It just plain "sucks"! Started in spring of 2019.

I am on Google's Project Fi. T-Mobile reception has improved dramatically in Sheridan, and actually, throughout Eastern Wyoming. I get a lot of dead spots, still, but between T-Mo, Sprint, and US Cellular (Roaming on Verizon?) I seem to always have *at least* HSPA or 3G+ service. T-Mo is improving so eventually I assume the service will stay on the network all the time... some day...

Tmobile has very poor reception, if not working at all. Other than being inside of the hotel using their wifi, I cannot check emails, no signal at all and calls dropped. We are moving here soon and we have to change carrier.

Poor to no reception. Verizon is the only carrier in the area. Their coverage map indicates 3G coverage for our whole area. This is not the case. The only coverage that exists in town is at the various homes who have network extenders. Even when showing 5 bars of service, often you will not receive voicemail notifications until you have left town and entered a tower coverage area. This is disappointing, because a new small tower has been added just out of town on a ridge, so we should be seeing better access to signals - not worse. Personally I get somehow kicked off the network every month or so, and have to go through a series of resets and other steps with a phone rep, just so that people who call me don't receive a "this customer is not on the network" message. Very disappointing.

AT&T service stinks I live in Hardin,MT and work 12 miles south in Crow Agency. I have poor service in my house not to mention spotty service in Crow Agency. I work construction and am out in the field all day everyday. I have zero service ! And I thought AT&T had nation wide service?

Well I can't comment on the western part of the state, but I have really good service here in Worland. Good service in fact from central, south central, north central, and all over the eastern part of the state. Everyone needs to understand that as rural as the state is you are going to find dead spots from time to time. I hunt and guide all over the state and for the most part I have good service. Even through Dubois all the way to Jackson. I was just there this last weekend and had not problem. I get service in the badlands and the bighorns. I myself had never had a problem with not being able to call on one or two bars. Infact I can still get online and download to my samsung, or blackberry on one bar. One thing to look forward too is that Verizon, and Alltel switching to AT&T will give people across the state more tower upgrades for batter service. Most people I hear talk try to dog either service with all the stuff they see on TV. Who is bigger who is better. You know who cares!... lol IF your not a national or world wide traveler what good is it going to to do you! I look at it this way I travel a little and have never had any problem with service anywhere in the country with alltel. With that said they are small than both, so I'm excited about AT&T picking us up... ..as long as you got service and like your provider than more power to you. They are both great networks... ... ..I am looking forward to the service upgrades will be getting here in WYO in the coming monthes... ... . Have a good one... ..

One or two bars in town only (none on I-25 or I-90 between towns). No 3G. Frequent dropped calls.
