Sprint
Okay, so I feel I would be doing you all a grim injustice if I didn't leave my input. Sprint is quite possibly the worst company in existence today. The entire company is built upon lies. From the morons at the store counter LYING to you about how 4G in phoenix is "right around the corner!" to the BS coverage map that somehow tells me all the main places I hangout are in the 'Best' reception area, yet my grandfather can get it up faster than my miserable reception. I literally have 1 bar in each of these places. Don't let unlimited data fool you. I am trying to access the internet constantly, be it stocks, facebook, and youtube (F**king joke, nice try Dan). My last bill said that even though I was struggling to pull up anything in the Phoenix area, I was only able to use half a gig. When you are looking for a carrier, ask yourself this question- What is free data, when you can rarely, if ever, use it? Some other notes: -Dropped calls more than once a day -Searches for signal so often, battery life is drastically affected -At least twice a day I get random 'network busy' errors when I try and make a call or use the internet -I'm basing this all off of a total of 5-6 phones with sprint, over 10 of the past 12 years. Storytime- I had to call the cops on a guy waving a gun in the passenger side of a van along pima rd between chaparral and indian school a few months back. Pay attention to this-- IT TOOK ME 6 ATTEMPTS TO GET 911 TO WORK. This area, according to the coverage map, is the best reception area. This is not an exaggeration by any means. If you need to call the cops for a life-threatening situation, are you going to risk your life to save $10-20 / month? How much is your life worth? Make the right choice. Done venting. If I have saved even one of you from making a terrible decision, I've done my job. Sincerely, Your friend at thomas and hayden.

Sprint
Sprint is the worst! I have only had them for a few months and everything is awful about this provider. The.coverage renders my S3, to the capabilities of a old fashion camera pbone. No streaming videos, no music, cant do anything that requires data. Everywhere I go I receive less than 1mbs for download or upload speed. I will not stay with them as my carrier. I refuse to pay for a service that is not rendered. Sprint as a whole is a crook corporation!

Verizon
So I have had all the major carriers and while they all have issues Verizon has been by far the best for us. In my apartment we get over 30mbs speeds with 4g which is way beyond T-Mobile and AT&T 4g service and we all know how slow Sprint it. I do notice lower bars around tempe but still get over 10mbps so not bad at all. Never dropped a call. The best part about Verizon is if u travel a lot like we do there are very few dead zones around the country on highways and tons of 4g zones. If you can affordbthe premium of better service get Verizon. If you dont care about data speeds and want something cheap go with sprint. T-Mobile is laughable and gets no service for large areas when traveling and had major problems with AT&T claiming much higher data usage then actually used.

AT&T
Half the time I have NO SERVICE -- I'm lucky if I get 2 bars - but that quickly fades. I have to go to my car and drive a block away to be able to call someone (standing in the middle of the street also works but it is loud and dangerous! The most annoying is that ATT wants me to pay a monthly fee ($19.99) to add a Micro Cell ($199) to my internet connection (Cox) in order to get better service! Is that F**Ked or what? CLASS ACTION ANYONE? How cam they claim they have full coverage when there isn't a cell phone tower miles around?

Sprint
I love Sprint they have been good to me and I have great reception for my Samsung galaxys3. I'm very surprise to see all these negative comments about Sprint. Verizon, T-mobile, and AT&T are horrible went through them all and finally I'm 100% happy with Sprint reception plans and everything

Sprint
I have nothing good to say about Sprint. They sold us phones with 4G and in Phx, we do not have 4G. I feel like I was lied too. And on top of that, we live 1 / 4 mile away from the nearest cell tower. But we have dropped calls, delayed (sometimes by hours) text messages and very slow internet service. I called Sprint and they sent us an Airave. Which runs on the internet connection from Cox. If I would have known I would have this much trouble, I would have never ever gone with Sprint. Plus they charge me $220 + tax for 2 smart phones and an old flip phone. Beware, try a different carrier. I had Verizon for years, and I'm going back after my contract is up!

AT&T
Im a AT&T customer for a little over 2 years and at my home I can't get more then 2 bars on my Samsung note. I have found a program in the Google play store that tracks my signal and gives the cell phone I'd. It's call open signal and it's pretty informative.

Verizon
i get one to two bars most of the time over here when in other areas my service is full. 3G data is a joke. Picked up a new iphone 5 today in hopes that 4G would be a little better and to my surprise the signal strength is identical... whats with the clustered towers around tempe and east phoenix... ? cheap land? this needs some serious help...

Sprint
I have 1-2 bars in my home, and drop calls about once per day. If I'd have to describe Sprint's level of service toward customers in Phoenix with a book title, it would have to be, "Sprint's just not that into you". My data speeds would remind me of my Hayes 9600 Baud modem, if they were consistent. I transfered to Sprint before I moved from Denver. My Sprint service in Denver was amazing, very fast data (usually in excess of 5 Mbps) and I never ever dropped calls. My 3G Sprint coverage in Denver was 6x faster than my usually 3G speeds in Phoenix. How is this possible?

Verizon
In looking and asking around I have learned that Verizon is the best carrier in the area as far as reception goes. This is the ONLY reason I am sticking with them. Word to the wise: those "Grandfathered" into the unlimited data plan - it is going away -once you upgrade your phone... Poof Gone!

Sprint
Sprint coverage used to be terrible in my area, and I used to think that the Sprint Network Vision plan was a load of crap. But believe it or not, its actually getting better! I am getting download speeds of about 1.1-1.5 Mbs and about.95-1 Mbs up. This is compared to less than.4 Mbs up and down. In addition, Sprint LTE is expected to be up be the end of 1Q 2013. That's all Sprint customers can hope for here... and don't think I'm biased. If I don't get LTE as I expect it, I'm going to leave Sprint. I just feel like if I have a shot at unlimited data on an LTE network, I'll take that chance. One of the MAIN reasons I believe in their LTE arrival, is that a Japanese company, SoftBank, a carrier in Japan, with an ambitious CEO plans to buy about 70% of Sprint public stock. He is embarassed of how slow all carriers speeds are in the US and he has the money to make Sprint LTE happen, with SoftBank having an income of over 1.2 trillion. Sprint's LTE plan is very ambitious, I just hope they pull through. Thanks for reading!

AT&T
I have an AT&T micro cell which is supposed to boost the signal. It initially connects and call quality is very good, then it consistently drops and then the quality is so poor it becomes necessary to end the call. Cox Communications is my Internet provider so is it possible the Internet connection is the problem? I'm baffled and ready to switch to Verizon which everyone in the area says works fine wherever they are in the valley. How do I determine which carrier is better in Arizona?

AT&T
I have an iPhone 5 and my coverage is acting up, and I know that it has nothing to do with my phone because my parents's phones' down the street are acting up also.

Verizon
I've been with Verizon for about a year now on a grandfather plan that I had purchased, and the voice and data service has been good in comparison to reviews I have read from users on other carriers. In my area I usually average 4G speeds between 7-10 Mbps (download) and 4-9 Mbps (upload). Although these numbers may look good to some, they are not the best speedtest results I've seen on Verizon, which were around 18-34 Mbps (download) and 10-18 Mbps (upload) when I lived in Michigan. But the speeds I'm currently receiving in the Phoenix area are acceptable and enough to fulfill your needs when it comes to streaming any form of media.

AT&T
Very slow Internet on my IPhone and I Pad. Text messages not receives and many calls dropped Travel to Scottsdsle in the Wintet and overall service is very poor. Just Returned from Turkey where the service was much better even in small towns where you would expect no service. My area has fourth rate service and I am tire of it Time to change carriers and hope for better results.

Sprint
Obviously, the big complaint with Sprint is the fact that many of us have 4g capable phones, but there is no "official" 4g service. There is a good amount of 4g (and I've tested it myself) in certain parts of the Valley, but when you are outside of those select areas, you are subjected to some of the most pathetic and laughable speeds imaginable! Speed in the 32nd and Shea (as with much of Phoenix) is often in the 100kbps-250kbps range. Ridiculous, even subpar for 3g! In the hotspots, I admit that the speeds are much better, probably around 7-8Mbps, with 1.2Mbps upload. I havent noticed any call problems in the 4 months so far with Sprint. Data is my big beef with them! To see exactly where the hotspots are, you merely need to go to Sprint's primary 4g partner, Clearwire, and check their coverage map. you'll see alot of 4g in parts of North Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale, and for some crazy reason, way the heck out west by Buckeye. DO NOT TRUST WHAT SPRINT ASSOCIATES in stores or kiosks tell you about 4g rollout. They aren't evil kids, they just simply have no idea what they are talking about, and I think it has just become easier for them to say "oh, it'll roll out in a few weeks" rather than tell you the truth, which is "I have no idea." Clearwire seems to be much more accurate, so go to their website if you really want to see Sprint's progress (if you can call it that) in their 4G rollout.

Sprint
Very poor reception in my house. Dropped calls. No Data, Many many calls to Sprint tech support, trouble tickets issued, problems never resolved. I have gone weeks at a time with Tower being down. Was told 4G was coming very soon that was a year ago. Sprint charges 10 extra for premium data!

Verizon
I have been a customer with this carrier since they were Airtouch Cellular and I had a 3 pound brick of a phone. I was almost tempted to the Dark Side which is AT&T for one reason, the Apple iPhone. Thankfully AT&T finally got their monopoly taken from them. I have heard nothing but horror stories about AT&T's coverage and uselessness. Thank God I got a Droid X when they came out and that held me over until Apple finally released a CDMA Verizon compatible iPhone. I have NEVER had a dropped call after they switched to digital coverage and phased out analog. And the cherry on top is that the Verizon version of the iPhone is GSM compatible as a world traveler I have 2 GSM phones that I use in the Philippines, Taiwan, Cambodia and Thailand where I use prepaid sim cards, now after asking them, Verizon unlocked the sim slot allowing my iPhone to work overseas, and as a plus they also include a Verizon sim that will allow you to use it in an emergency, albeit at a premium price. This gives you service until you get you sim pack and load your international sim. Verizon 4 life!

Sprint
Sprint service in N. Scottsdale Grayhawk area is awful! I have an AirRave booster signal just so I can have service in my condo but when I walk out I lose the call. Texting is awful. I get error messages when I send then the network tries to keep resending so my friends get duplicate texts, sometimes 10+. One friend got the same text from me 22 times! Friends have asked me to stop texting them. Had same problem with two different phones. Also, some text messages just are never sent or I don't receive.

Sprint
From Shea Blvd.to Via De Ventura and from Pima Rd to at least 110th St. is a Sprint dead zone.Since my home and my work are both within this (Scottsdale Ranch) area this phone is practically useless. I'm lucky if a call lasts a minute before dropping, and even then the sound keeps breaking up. Even sending a text usually results in a network access error. Everyone I know who gets a good signal in this area has Verizon. I'm switching too!

AT&T
I had no issues with my service at my previous home that was less than 10 miles away. However in my immediate area now, the service is a nightmare. I get poor reception outside and little to no reception inside. Even if my phone shows bars, they are either short lived or the person on the other line tells me I am cutting out. My phone is not usable as a phone; however I have fewer data plan issues. I do have issues with speed and temporary access issues at least daily with Internet, but at least I have some access in my home - I cannot say the same for phone usage (which is unfortunate because I need my phone for work and work from home frequently). I am going to have to suck it up and pay the termination fee to have a working business phone at home.

Verizon
4-5 bars almost everywhere. Inside of steel frame office building on ground level, at home in block home. In the desert, everywhere. I also travel to almost every state in the nation, and have had great results. Yes Verizon is very expensive. It would truly be a ripoff if it weren't for the amazing service. To the guy above saying no cellphone is sure to work in a home (yet says his Verizon is perfect - go figure)... BS. I have never in 11 years as a customer seen ANY Verizon phone not work in ANY home I have been in. They always work. For work I have tried all types of carriers so let me make this really simple for everyone. CDMA WORKS! That means Sprint and Verizon. GSM STINKS! It does NOT work well inside of buildings, PERIOD!

I hover between 0 to 1 bar. Very poor reception. Have to stand in exact areas to make calls... outside. Inside l am lucky to get one bar.

AT&T
I have to go outside most of the time to make calls. Some messages and missed call notifications don't arrive for hours or not at all. My phone almost never rings when at home and sometimes doesn't even show that someone called. Seriously considering changing to Verizon or Sprint
