Way better reception for my area than I had with Verizon

Verizon considers Gilbert, AZ a low access area and expected me to have no service or bad service. I was told I could buy an antenna for my house. They knew it would be bad service, nobody mentioned it when signing me up, but this is the answer I got all the way through the store manager and the manager at customer service. Spent 3 days on the phone with them for about 5 hours each day. Nothing fixed and never will be.

My house seems to be the epicenter of a cell service dead zone for Verizon. It hasn't always been this way, but in the past several months I get either no or very weak reception as I enter my small neighborhood just NE of 52nd St. and Doubletree, and I get limited or no reception in my home. I am heading out right now to find a new carrier.

Have been using cricket for several months, they're an "MVNO" (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) that has recently been officially acquired by AT&T so-to-speak. Nevertheless ever since paying a $17 difference to upgrade from $35 Unlimited plan with only 2.5GB data to a truly "unlimited" High-Speed for $65 with AutoPay. In the middle of my service period. So far I've used over 15GB of data with no slow down at all :)! Consistent 8-10mbps down, and I've seen the upload as high as 22mbps! Which is great for if your backing up data, or do alotta web development. (Or for the NSA Surveillance to get your phone's data quick to Data Farms the state over ;) (LOL-Laugh it up!) Tho for $65 it beats the socks off of "CenturyLink" a local telecom / DSL provider for which has recently Provisioned to even slower speeds in Fountain Hills from 7mbps for a few years the fastest they offer to my residence is 5mbps down, and even after line quality tests they're a joke. I'm very much content with Cricket as is the same coverage as AT&T Pre-paid / contract suckers. Tho because cricket is an MVNO AT&T do technically have higher priority, and most likely slightly faster downstream speeds, etc! :) - KWAS

I drop a ton of calls here. So many, I might have to start working from home! How can the service be so aweful! does anyone have any suggestions?

My coverage is spoty sometimes especially in Gilbert Cooper and Warner area. But not bad, looking to lower my cost may go with TMobile. Sounds like the coverage is good. When I had T-Mobile back when smartphones were new the data speed was terrible.

Excellent reception in all the Gilbert and Tempe area where I spend the most of my time

My house is a dead zone! I have spoken to Verizon on many occasions about the horrible reception. They said there are towers all around this area and they are working fine. My phone is working well too they say but I only get one or two bars and barely 3G. However I don't get too many dropped calls. I can go to the end of my street and it works fine. My house is only nine years old so that isn't a factor. Verizon's answer is to upsell a booster of some kind.

Coverage so bad last couple years in Apache Junction we switched to cable internet (we are snowbirds for 5 months). When leaving tried to activate my MiFi2200 (3G) and got nothing. Called CS and was told nearest 3G tower was 4 miles; nearest 4G about 1 1 / 2 miles. I bought a new 4G JetPack to travel with and it worked. But it cost me another $100 after rebate and I returned it within 30 day guarantee period due to a travel interruption. Plus I hd to pay a startup charge. Next time we hit the road from "up north" I will try my MiFi 2200 again. The 3G coverage map actually looks pretty good heading back to Arizona inckuding the Tubac area where we will be for 10 days before going back to Apache Junction. We stay with Verizon because literally all our fanily is on it so free calls. And we travel the country and overall Verizon has the best coverage.
