AT&T

on southern reception is fine, but in the neighborhoods south of it (near walmart and superstition springs area) I get no reception. i've been with Cingular since I liked at&t, but am distgusted with them now. there are plenty of acceptable coverage areas down here for them, but my new house doesn't fall under one of them. can't wait til I can change carriers.

No matter what phone you use, or what carrier you are with, here's what you need to check if you are in a 'dead zone' while in your house... If you get 'free roaming' on your contract, go into your phones menu and set the phone on 'roam only'... this forces the phone off whatever network it runs on (or is specifically looking for), and makes it search for the nearest tower, regardless of what company the tower belongs to. If you get a stronger signal that way, keep your phone on that setting while in the area... Easy!

Sprint finally switched me from a Sanyo VI2300 to a Nokia 3155i and it made a world of difference. If you are having problems with Sprint reception, put your foot down and demand they get you into a Nokia 3155i... it's a much better phone with improved reception and many more features. Where the VI2300 had no signal strength, the 3155i has at least two bars of signal. I am not dropping the calls like I used to. Sprint transferred me over to their 'phone insurance people' and they upgraded me for free after I told them I would be looking for another carrier if I didn't get some kind of resolution to the problem. I received the phone via UPS after just two days. Very happy with the 3155i.

Every single stinking game with the SUNS vs. LA me and my buddy both who have Verizon couldn't get a signal at either Native New Yorker on DOrsey and Broadway nor at McDuffys on 5th and Ash, near Mill. Yup its the network (crappy) allright. Not to mention that in Coconut Grove in Miami Florida, I couldn't get a signal at my Bro's pad. I stayed there for a little over a week and it is in the middle to south of Miami! Forget about your (crappy) network.

Reception is so poor I don't get ringing, but the you have messages tone when I come into a strnger area. Calls are dropped, You can't hear the person you called nor they you intermitted. I will never deal with Sprint or Nextel ever again. I have had big problems with both regardless of the phone model. Verizen seems to be furnish the best reception in this area, I don't know about others, but historically AT&T has been poor in Gilbert from Elliot south between McQueen and Val Vista or the eastern city limits. My contract lasts until Nov, but attempts to stop service because of the inability to receive calls, carrys no weight with the provider. DO NOT BUY a Sprint phone if you live in these areas!

Never have had a dropped call. I have run into few dead areas (Papago Park Zoo) I am making regular trips to Tucson (Speedway and Tuscon) without a problem. Can not make calls to and from Houston. My cell is my primary phone line. I was going to change carriers, but might not now.

Stay away from Sprint if you live anywhere near Ray and Greenfield, down to Williams Field road, it's one big Dead Zone, and Sprint won't even change out my phone to help me.

Barely any signal in or around our house. The Verizon customer "service" rep told me I am in a whole forest of cell phone towers (their words) and should have great reception. We can barely hold a phone conversation and most of the time we can't hear the other party (and vice-versa). Verizon support said there was nothing they could do and that it had to be some kind of interference near my house. They were however very carefull not to agree with me that switching service sounded like the only option (they did not give any others). My daughter's TMobile phone works perfectly in our house so I don't think it is interference. We are done with Verizon as soon as our contracts are up unless they are resolving the issue.

On Shea just past FLW heading east the Sprint Service drops calls 99% of the time... in addition to areas on Via Linda, 136th South of Shea and other areas. It does not matter what type of phone you have, it happens on them all. Do all Services have this problem?? Isn't there some provider that has quality coverage?
