AT&T
Would have liked to select No Reception, but occasionally does work. However, it is usually only 2 bars and still using the Edge network. This includes Rancho Sahuarita, Vail, Davis-Monthan AFB

Tmobile in oro valley is TERRIBLE! I only get 2g network, and only one bar. The service is only good in downtown tucson area, though is fluctuates between 2g and 4g. But the 2g calls are horrible, you cant hear the person nor can they hear you. Its a safe bet to go with AT&T rather than tmobile, unless you live in downtown area.

Verizon
I'm down 2 mi of dirt road in a little valley. I have Verizon cell service but it's pretty spotty, even with a booster. Just lost my internet service so bought a Mifi hotspot. From one window in my laundry room I am getting 4G connection, albeit with 2 bars. I ordered an antenna for it and hopefully it will be better. It's not perfect but no other alternatives where I am, and I refuse to go with Wild Blue or Dishnet or any other satellite provider.

Lots of dead zones all over town, it has gotten worse and I even lose calls right in my own home. Is there any cell phone that provides good service?

T mobile's 3g coverage is shockingly bad, where I live I only get edge speeds indoors and constant fluctuations between HSDPA(3.5G) and EDGE

AT&T
After updating to 4G LTE, we had some of the worst service. We couldn't receive calls, it wouldn't even show that a call was missed. Customer service tried "fixing" the issue for a month. ATT doesn't cover the Tucson area with LTE. Finally we switched carriers.

Sprint
Average service, calls dropped on A Mountain continuously, from on-campus - works ok but goes through bouts of no service available. Reception varies from 1-5 bars frequently.

Inter net reception in house from my Sprint phone is very slow. I am not impressed with Sprint.

I am in the middle of Tucson and their Mobil broadband sucks! I do not get 4g as they I should. Very poor service for the dollars paid. Its seems their services varies wildly street by street. Do not sign up for this service, wasted money!

Verizon
I've had Verizon for a year now, and while the coverage is great in Tucson, it is HORRIBLE at my house. I can make phone calls, but they are super choppy and are almost impossible to understand. My brand new 4G phone barely hangs on to 3G and often switches to 1X at my house, but down the street get very good LTE. Contacted Verizon and they said it's the trees in the area, which is an answer I'm not completely satisfied with, lucky for them the coverage is the best everywhere else in Tucson or I would be jumping ship. Other than the coverage at my house, the customer service is pretty good, the service is expensive, and the retail stores in Tucson generally suck.

Generally no bars at all. Very scary to be without emergency calls. When I do get a connection, it cuts out frequently.

My reception here is great! Calls crystal clear and data downloads very fast.

Sprint
I'm not sure what the hell you people are talking about with Sprint service. First of all, most cell companies simply sublet tower usage from eachother. So basically if you have service with one company, you have it with all companies. I've never had a single issue with signal, and I have no idea what you mean about timing out when downloading apps... i've never had that experience and I travel all around the country. Maybe you are buying crappy phones? i do, however, share the gripe re: how can they charge me premium for 4g, when there is no 4g service in tucson?

Sprint
Frequent dropped calls at my house. 3G service at home is slooow at best; not existent at worst. One dead spot along Orange Grove Rd.between 1st and Skyline. There must be a carrier with better voice and data service for the area.

Sprint
Probably one third of calls to / from my residence dropped calls at my house. Poor quality for calls that are not dropped but need to be redialed. Frequent "Network busy, try again later" error messages. No 4G or 4G LTE service or any planned. Sloooow 3G downloads... if you get a download at all before timing out. Good news about Sprint is that they impose no limits on data. Not so good news is having unlimited data is meaningless because the service is so poor.

Sprint
NO service at times. Many dropped calls. Have also found this to be true many spots in Tucson. Sprint touts their improved data equipment but what good is data service without a reliable connection?? Perfect example of how the so-called free market doesn't work for customers of this behemoth.

AT&T
AT&T drops more calls here in Tucson than I've experienced anywhere else. I've always loved this carrier, that is until I went to college and am now experiencing their less than average service. Someone needs to fix this. This at a University, there are tons of kids getting dropped calls everywhere. It's unacceptable.

AT&T
The AT&T service within this area SUCKS. We have to stand outside in the street to be able to receive or make a phone call. Two years ago, the service in this area was average... now it is between poor and no reception... i.e., SUCKS.

I have repeatedly called, sent a modem. Still NO SERVICE ???? I am just thankful I have a land line, and internet threw a different company.. don't think we will stay with them. Awful

Sprint
Sprint / iPhone is a disastrous combo in Tucson. The speed of 3g is always less than 30kb / s. This is more or less the same with a modem speed 20 years ago. ATT is notorious but it is much better than sprint. I really regret about my choice. Do not even try Sprint in Tucson.

Verizon
I drop calls all the time and so does everyone that comes to my house that has Verizon. I had to get a home phone because my daughter was hurt and I couldn't call 911 it kept losing call. They couldn't walk me through helping my daughter. It was the most terrifying day of my life and Verizon made it worse

T-Mobile
Disappointed, I was with T-Mobile since 2007 in Phoenix, AZ, I never have a problem, I loved reception in the Valley and even in our trips to Mexico, never had a problem with drop calls, it was great until we moved to Vail, AZ. My phone service never was the same, I was still in a contract when I moved here and I was unable to use my phone at home, the only time I was able to use it, was when I was driving in town in Tucson, I have to cancel my service, I was charged the 200.00 Dlls cancelation fees, but I fight it together with BBB and it worked out pretty good. Now I am looking for a new phone service.
