AT&T
Cingular is the worst service provider I've ever used. I don't even get service in my apartment!

Cingular has no service, just a name. We had AT&T wireless, which had problems, but nothing like now. Dropped calls, network failure,no signal or reception, sometimes for hours. Customer service is always polite but never any help. They all follow the same line, nothing is wrong in your area, it must be your phone, a tower is out. I have four Samsung x426 and one Nokia 6340i phones, all have the same problems. I have a friend who is located in the Swan and FT. Lowell area who upgraded to Motorola RAZR phones and is still having the same problems. Cingular may be ok in some areas, but definately not here. Even a locale Cingular store employee said that they had to install Qwest landlline where they live, to have any reliable phone service.

I've been fairly pleased with Alltel. Of course calls will drop for no apparent reason, but not too often. I was able to get perfect reception at Seven Falls(Sabino Canyon) and while on the Washington / Candanian border this summer our phone was the only one to get reception. When we used T Mobile there was no reception south of Houghton. This model sounds like your talking through a tin can.

Poor reception and dropped calls inside my home. I have to go outside on the patio to make calls.

I used to have AT&T, excellent. My phone broke and the Cingular salesman pushed the Cingular service and phone. Terrible. No service at my home and when I do get it in the car, most of my calls are dropped. Customer service told me, "the phone has to find a new tower when you move around and can sometimes drop calls" Excuse me, aren't these called "mobile phones" so that you CAN move around? I will be breaking my contract as soon as I research other carriers... . not if, but when.

Occasional reception, both texts and voicemail can take up to 2-3 hours to hit phone.

Service quality has steadily deteriorated over the last year. Despite new phones I can no longer make calls from inside my house. In fact, even standing on my roof doesn't help. I've cancelled my contract.

Sprint has horrible reception. Never more than a bar or two in Tucson. Dropped calls one out of about every three calls. Most of the time I will not even get a call it will go directly into my voice mail (which will not alert me for sometimes an hour). Not recommended in this area. Also had the same issues if not worse in Southern California when traveling with the Sprint phone. They also charge for minutes they should not be and its hard to catch it unless you add your bill by hand.

Much worse than I normally get from Vz. The reception was 1-4 bars depending on the terrain, but even with 3 or 4 bars dropped calls were common.
